I recall the edits in the scene where Oz, Wayne & Moxey watch the stripper in the pub, every time the stripper was about to open her legs or similar there was a jarring cut I also remember that Bomber exclaiming 'Lesbian Lust?!' was silenced. I wonder what the people who made these shows think of this censorship? If I'd made something I wouldn't be happy seeing it vandalised for daytime viewing. Yeah remember that scene one too Art... Maybe that pub's on the list for our forthcoming Newcastle meet. LOL!

They cut a bit in last night's episode (A Law For The Rich, repeated on Yesterday) where Oz breaks into Thornley Manor and opens the front door; "What are you'se peasants doing on my property". They cut the bit "The notice clearly states that members of the working class will be exterminated, now p*** off", that's the best line of the episode and is aired on a digital channel at approximately 11.15pm. Why cut it? It was aired in full on terrestrial tv at 9.15pm originally. What's the point?

Suppose it's easier for UKTV to show the same edited episodes regardless of the time it's being shown also the bonus for them is the 20-25 mins of advert time it gives them.

I don't like the idea anyway of showing shows or films that were intended for an adult audience in the afternoon. The swearing is part & parcel of the show, not something gratuitously added for shock effect, it's how people speak. Having said that, no one uses the f word, 'friggin' being the closest they get. The only way round it is to no longer make swearing taboo, do it gradually of course, start with weather forecasters saying 'I'm afraid it's going to be f*****g freezing today so wrap up warm' on breakfast tv

Think the best one was when ITV4 showed Sweeney 2 on Xmas Day a few years back in the afternoon uncut and with the F-words all present in their glory. Mind you from what I can remember there where no complaints probably the only viewers being fans only too happy to see it uncut. Also anyone remember those dire 'TV versions' of Hollywood blockbusters which were around in the late 1980's. Absolute tosh I remember watching Lethal Weapon once and the line 'Rayann get in the yellow car' when it was a white Cadillac... Back to AWP wasn't frigging cut from the 1988 showings too?

All members, I'm excited to announce that we now have a dedicated Auf Wiedersehen, Pet board right here on 4:3tv. It is fully dedicated and has individual sub boards for Series 1, 2 & 3-5. As this thread has been a general discussion about all series of AWP I'll leave it where it is and lock it now to retain continuity. Please focus all AWP discussion over in the Auf Wiedersehen, Pet board > Here - Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Board
I aim to do a full location report on AWP in the near future so look out for that. What are you waiting for? Get on over and start populating the boards with AWP talk! Gene.
