I heard about this on the radio yesterday and instantly thought of The Barley Mow.

Excellent find. I bet one of the builders got it on with the home owners spouse.

They must have been a couple of Belgians that knocked it up overnight, not German. If I'm not mistaken that wall shown is a Flemish Bond. Sam

Saw this by chance on the BBC News site. Seems The Windmill Inn (Barley Mow) in Redmile could be under threat from developers as the landlord may be retiring soon. www.google.co.uk/amp/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/39153811Been there a couple of times down the years and very nice it is too, be a big shame if that happens.

I've been in there many many times. It's a nice place in a nice area. The landlord in my opinion has little or no interest in its AWP connection which is a shame. I hope it gets saved and the new owner acknowledges the importance of its history in AWP. Given its location it has always been busy when I've visited so whoever takes it on should have no concerns about custom.
Gene.

Whilst in the Notts area a year or two ago attending a get together I thought it was a good opportunity to go and have a look at the village of Redmile and have a nose.
I was in digs a few miles away that was very Fawlty Towers so on the Sunday I nipped down there. I noted that there was already another pub in the village that had closed so it would be a tragedy if this one went. The food was good in there too.
