I watched it last night. I think Hamilton is just taking it easy as he know he only needs to stay out of trouble and finish the race. I do wonder if Bottas is going to somehow not finish the race with a car issue. We'll find out later.

I was surprised the circuit was in quite a bad way what with all the bumps etc. This race was ok to watch. Bottas was never really troubled for the win and was very quick here. This season seems to have come full circle. The Ferrari's were awful again much like the first half dozen races. Vettels race was weird. No contact at the start but the car was a dog and went backwards. Honda really seem to be in the mix now with Verstappen's Red Bull firmly in the top three. Mercedes haven't been the quickest car in the sessions over the last few races but on the Sunday's they have been very strong. Hamilton takes another title as result of their superior consistency over the season. Congratulations to Mercedes and Hamilton.

I've still got to watch the race from Austin but congratulations to Lewis Hamilton on being a 6 times World Champion!
I can certainly see him equalling or beating Schumi's 7 titles and 91 wins before Lewis hangs his helmet up too. Simply he's the most complete driver on the grid and like or loathe him outside of the car his achievements in F1 speak for themselves and can't really be touched by say Sebastian Vettel - who's rightly or wrongly lost his way, or any other drivers on the grid right now... whether they will in a few years time...
Lewis definitely deserves a MBE or some kind of award for what he's achieved in the sport and if ex-prime ministers can give alleged women beating ex-cricketers a gong then Lewis who's done absolutely nothing at all in comparison definitely deserves one.
Once again well done Lewis.

A bit of F1 news pre-race in Brazil, Red Bull have confirmed Alex Albon for the 2020 season.
He deserves this but hope RB don't give him the #2 driver blues which have affected Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly and to a lesser extent Daniel Ricciardo too. Interestingly Kvyat and Gasly are confirmed for 2020 for Toro Rosso again smart move as both seem to have done fairly well there this season and Gasly seems to be getting back into it again.

Yeah it's a pretty good doc that Hunt v Lauda one. Another good one BBC Four sometimes show is Grand Prix: The Killer Years from around the same era with many of the faces from that period too.
