There's a few of these, and none of them are what I would call bad, and they're all by singers/bands I don't dislike, but for some reason I just don't like them
Billy Joel Uptown Girl Diana Ross Chain Reaction Survivor Eye of the tiger Bee Gees So you win again Tears for fears Rule the world Starship Nothings going to stop us now Rod Stewart Baby Jane Madonna Material Girl
Any others?

From the "Don't mind the artist (apart from the first one), hate the song collection" Waterboys - The Whole of The Moon (over produced, overrated, pretentious) John Miles - Music (.... was my first hit and it will be my last) Cranberries - Zombie (A serious message, but can't stand the yodelling) James - Laid (more unnecessary yodelling) Alan Price - The Jarrow Song (great tribute to an iconic protest, but turns it around in the last verse to moan about being a rich pop star who has to pay tax) Frank Sinatra - My Way (written by Paul Anka, though Anka doesn't like to talk about it - not!)

Of your list Night, there's one I love, Music by John Miles. I think it's brilliant I thought that one might be the controversial one (although I liked Can't Slow Down from 1977). Have to agree on most of yours, particularly Billy Joel. Loved his early albums in the late 70s, then he seemed to go a bit over commercial when he started churning out the Uptown Girl stuff. Eye of The Tiger usually lasts 5 seconds max before the off switch and Burning Heart even less, though their follow up American Heartbeat was far better. Chain Reaction was one of the handful of tracks where the Bee Gees "help out" on the backing vocals and end up making it sound like a Bee Gees song.

I like most of those with the exception of Chain Reaction. Don't like: Lou Reed - Take A Walk On The Wild Side Michael Jackson - Bad Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana Joe Dolce - Shaddap Your Face Goombay Dance Band - Seven Tears Sister Sledge - Frankie Gene. On your list Gene, I like the Lou Reed and Sister Sledge tracks, although their earlier stuff from 79 when they worked with Nile Rodgers was far better. Joe Dolce is Room 101 material, The Goombay Dance Band I can sort of tolerate, and I agree on the Michael Jackson ones, another singer who tailed off, I liked his earlier stuff.
John Miles did one other, High Fly, from late 75 which wasn't bad

I can say three without even thinking. I can't stand 'Driving home for Christmas' by Chris Rea. They play it all the time here on the radio or in the shops at Christmas time.
I don't like: Walking in Memphis
New York state of mind
Ok a controversial one, but also 'American Pie'. That had a resurgence at parties in the 1980s. Hmm maybe anything by Don McLean.

'Mustang Sally' is the first one that springs to mind. I totally detest it.

John Miles did one other, High Fly, from late 75 which wasn't bad I'd forgotten about that one. A great song. Reminds me a bit of How Does It Feel ? by Slade from Slade in Flame. Have to agree on Michael Jackson. Off The Wall to Thriller - great. After that, not so great. I wonder if this is down to Michael turning away from his chief songwriter, Rotherham's Rod Templeton, for his later albums. I don't mind American Pie, but I hate the radio edit that always gets played. McClean's telling a story, albeit with deliberately confusing lyrics, and the short version makes even less sense when they cut out most of the story.
