Superb race. I won't post a report yet as it may spoil it for those who are still yet to watch.
I will just say "WHAT A START!!!"

Hopefully everyone who likes F1 on the forum will have seen the Singapore race by now. First of all shame I never did this race in Singapore and glad it’s remaining on the calendar for the next few years but wow the start was absolutely wild. I feel it’s one of those racing incidents and nobody is entirely to blame as such but I do think given the conditions and his knowledge past incidents with Verstappen, Vettel should have been a bit more cautious and considered the bigger picture with the race. That’s not to say neither Verstappen couldn’t have also been more cautious to and perhaps covered Kimi a bit better but overall I think Max had no where really to go in the end. Generally it’s given Hamilton a early Xmas present. Not to say this is wrong/a bad thing as Lewis was faultless in the race yesterday but I suppose in hindsight Sebastian might now be thinking perhaps if he’d dropped to third on lap one rather than being aggressive and involved in the carnage which followed may have been a better idea than lets be honest near enough kissing his title hopes goodbye yesterday. I feel sorry for Kimi and Alonso yesterday who were innocent by-standers in the action and probably got taken out of a race they both might have done well in and in many ways this reminds me of 2008 when again Ferrari seemed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory although back then Renault’s orchestrated Piquet jnr ‘crash’ and the incompetence of their pit crew was the problem not Felipe who like Vettel saw his title hopes vanish in Singapore. Here’s an interesting article on the BBC website too. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/41301477Back to the race was a little bit surprised Daniel Riccardo didn’t have anything in the Red Bull to take on Lewis/Mercedes given they were not far off Ferrari in quali. Okay maybe the changing weather/track conditions might have had something to do with it but to be around 8 seconds adrift after a couple more safety cars neutralised this seems a bit odd to me especially considering he was all over Rosberg in last years race, albeit with different cars. Apart from Lap 1 not too much else exciting happened but standouts in the race for me are Lance Stroll, Stoffel Vandoorne and Jolyon Palmer who showed more experienced drivers how it’s done. In the case of Palmer for once got the decent result he’s been threatening for the last couple of seasons. It’s been 50/50 for Palmer in the terms of bad luck and his driving skills but he has had decent machinery in that time. Maybe a move to Williams in 2018 could (?) work for him if as rumoured Felipe Massa calls it a day this season which seems likely. With six races to go anything is possible but the title is firmly in Lewis’s hands now and with the remaining tracks favouring him and Mercedes and being honest considering the season generally and yesterday’s race he deserves it.

Top write up of the race Dirty Epic. I'm still gobsmacked when I see the replay of the start on the news. The thing is even though Lewis Hamilton has now established a healthy lead of points, who is to say he doesn't get taken out by a wayward driver next race or have an engine problem. It absolutely still is a Ferrari or Mercedes championship.
