What a start to the Hungarian GP. Red Bull and Dan Ricciardo aren't happy with Max Verstappen and neither am I ! www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/40776913Results: 1 Vettel Ferrari 1:39:46.713 25 2 Raikkonen Ferrari 2 +0:00.908 18 3 Bottas Mercedes +0:12.462 15 4 Hamilton Mercedes +0:12.885 12 5 Verstappen Red Bull +0:13.276 10 6 Alonso McLaren +1:11.223 8 7 Sainz Toro Rosso Lapped 6 8 Perez Force India Lapped 4 9 Ocon Force India Lapped 2 10 Van Doorne McLaren 8 Lapped 1 11 Kvyat Toro Rosso Lapped 0 12 Palmer Renault Lapped 0 13 Magnussen Haas F1 Lapped 0 14 Stroll Williams Lapped 0 15 Wehrlein Sauber Lapped 0 16 Ericsson Sauber Lapped 0 R Hulkenberg Renault Retired (67) 0 R Di Resta Williams Retired (60) 0 R Grosjean Haas Retired (20) 0 R Ricciardo Red Bull Retired (0) 0 I would have expected the Mercedes team to prefer Hamilton to finish 3rd instead of Bottas. I was surprised team management didn't insist that Hamilton not 'give back' 3rd position to Bottas. Makes for a happy driver team though. I can't imagine Vettel ever doing that. Hope to see Massa back at Williams next race.

Agreed Max got it wrong big time. Shame really as I think Dan could have scored well at this track

Before we enjoy the Italian GP, here are the results of the Belgian race last week. Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton winning and equaling Michael Schumacher’s pole record. (I'd love to know how Schumacher is these days but as long as he is well with his family that's the main thing). Vettel must be spitting chips about coming second. (Well we all know what he is like !) Congrats Dan on coming 3rd. I love your enthusiasm and joy for the moment but I think you could have stopped encouraging the wave in the crowd while the driver interviews were on. Not intentionally disruptive but sometimes it's important to be aware of such things. What are SF1 going to do about Perez and Ocon ! As my second favourite team I pay close attention to their results. On Lap 30 debris littered the track when their cars touched when Perez forced Ocon into the barrier. Sympathy to Fernando Alonso having to drive the 'doomed' Honda McLaren.

WOW! I'm watching Qualifyiing in Monza and it is electrifying! Weather conditions are awful. Back in a bit..... Brilliant Q session today. Huge congratulations to Lewis who now holds the record for 69 Pole Positions in F1. Superb performance in awful conditions. By contrast for Ferrari at their home GP with a lowly 7th for Raikkonen and 8th for Vettel. They will of course benefit from grid penalties for 2nd placed Verstappen and 3rd placed Ricciardo. This has lit the title race and thrown petrol on the fire. Huge congratuations to Lance Stroll who will start alongside Lewis on the grid and Ocon who will start 3rd (thanks to the Red Bull penalties). I can't wait for the race tomorrow. A dry GP is promised. Bring it on!

A fantastic result today for Hamilton. Hardly putting a foot wrong from start to finish (apart from one slip where he understeered and ran his left wheels into the gravel momentarily) Lewis wiped the floor with Vettel & Ferrari today, finishing over half a minute ahead of Vettel.
Appalling to hear the Tifosi booing Lewis on the podium. I understand their loyalty to Ferrari but there is no excuse for booing a driver who has won with such a drive.
Once again, Verstappen found trouble when picking up a puncture early on when tangling with Massa, which saw him pit and return in last position. Game over for him.
Driver of the day? Difficult not to give it to Lewis for a class performance but for me it has to go to Daniel Ricciardo. Outstanding drive yet again from him. A few more laps would have seen him reel in Vettel and take the final podium spot. He also made the overtake of the day when passing Kimi at turn one in an electrifying move & also set the fastest lap of the race - some 2 seconds faster than 2016.
So, Singapore next. This was won by Rosberg last year, with Hamilton 3rd and Vettel again almost half a minute behind the winner.
Gene.

What a contrast in weather from qualifying to the race day. I also thought that Dan Ricciardo was driver of the day. Skilled progression from back of the pack to 4th. The two Mercedes cars looked fairly unstoppable seeing them drive alongside each other in their celebratory lap. It seemed like a hint of what is yet to come. Lewis Hamilton has made his claim on the year with this race. Another non finish from Fernando Alonso !
