Well done Sam. I can certainly see why you stayed out longer than required. The stops made around the island look fantastic. Lovely weather. Hope the bike is back on top form soon.

Sam, it looks like you and your Suzuki had a great day out on Sunday! Well done to you on raising funds and helping to highlight much-needed awareness for men's cancers and mental health issues. Cheers Vi

Great day for it, I've never been to the IOW, looks like a lovely spot in the sunshine. Well...............apart from that 7 stretch you did for armed robbery. Still, I suppose you didn't see much of the island. Well done Sam.

Well done Sam, glad you had a good day and like the bike. Been to the isle of Wight once, in 73 and liked it.

Thanks for all your kind words, they really are appreciated. You'll be glad to hear that I'll not be pestering for donations for much longer as we're now into the final week and the DGR for 2020 closes next Sunday, 11th October at midnight. For those that still haven't donated but wish to do so, here is the donations page link again: gfolk.me/AlecEdge286386My sponsorship has gradually grown and I've now managed to raise £896 so just £104 short of my £1000 target. Now to give you a few tasters of the ride itself I've put together some video clips. They have no sound because you wouldn't want to hear the continuous drone of the engine and I have no suitable royalty-free music to accompany: Video 1 - Yaverland to Sandown passing the Isle Of Wight Zoo: Video 2 - Shanklin to Ventnor along the scenic coast road and down the zig-zag to Ventnor seafront: Video 3 - A deserted Blangang Chine theme park through to Chale Green: All videos are best viewed on here rather than Youtube as YT blows them up to the point that they become grainy and pixellated. Sam.

Nice one Sam. What a fine day to give the Suzuki a run. I can see why you stayed out longer than suggested The sun seems to white out the horizon on occasion so I bet you had use extra caution approaching some of those bends and junctions. People in cars do pull out on you quite late, not good when you're on a bike especially on a bend. I must confess to speeding the video up on one clip to make it into TT mode

People in cars do pull out on you quite late, not good when you're on a bike especially on a bend. Thanks Derek, was definitely a better day than last Sunday! The Sun whitening out the horizon is a weakness of the camera, you can see a reddish blob in the sky at times when the camera can't cope with the intensity, yet while I was riding I never had that problem as I could see everything clearly. I must admit that my visor was tinted which helped but there wasn't the issue of glare for me. I'll probably invest in a better camera at some point but the reason I chose the one I have was that it is quite discrete being less than 20mm diameter and sat directly on top of the headlight: Sam.
