4:3TV are pleased to announce that through discussion between the management we are once again pleased to make donations to charitable causes. In previous years we have donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to The Good Grief Trust. This year the emphasis is on men's health and mental wellbeing and in recognition of that I shall be taking part in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on Sunday 27th of September. The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is an annual worldwide event aimed at raising awareness for men's cancers, particularly Prostate Cancer, and mental health issues. It is a charitable event in association with Movember in which motorcyclists across the world raise funds through sponsorship for these causes. I shall be taking part in memory of two very close friends that lost their lives to cancer far too young at the ages of 51 and 54 respectively, and for three other good friends that have suffered mental health issues. I will be joining the Isle Of Wight group for the ride around the island as it is especially significant for me to mark the passing of one of my very best friends that died last year from prostate cancer after twelve years with the disease. All sponsorship donations may be made via the link below and will be gratefully received. The link will take you direct to the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride web site for you to make your donation so is not reliant on the 4:3TV Paypal. The link for donations is: gfolk.me/AlecEdge286386I shall be riding my 1980 Suzuki GS550EN and will be carrying the 4:3TV banner on both sides of the bike's tank: Please also share with others to help us raise funds for such worthy causes, thank you. Sam & Gene.

Having lost my Dad to dreaded bug 7 years ago, and being diagnosed with it myself a few months later (though thankfully now fully clear) I'm very proud indeed that you are going to be doing the DGR to raise funds for such an incredibly worthy cause Sam With my donation already in I will now circulate this post on all my social media accounts to help out Gene.

Glad to see you're giving the Suzuki a run out for team 43tv. A worthy cause too so I've popped over to your page and donated. That link above needs reading twice as it nearly looks like something else

Some of the ages I'm reading on here are far too young!
Will contribute and nobody on this forum is to get cancer for at least 30 years, that's an order.

Some of the ages I'm reading on here are far too young! Sadly that's the point behind it Essex, and given that the majority of members on this fantastic forum are gents in the age range that makes them susceptible to the risk of prostate cancer then all the more reason that I want to raise the profile and gain more sponsorship. Equally as important is the mental health for men of all ages where they suffer stress, can't cope with their problems and consider the quick route out because they're afraid to ask for help for fear of appearing weak. My aim is to reach £1000 and I'm currently at £445 with just under three weeks to go to the event. Thank you to all that have donated already and to those that have pledged, it is all very much appreciated. Sam.

Sam, thanks for posting this on the forum. My parents both had cancer, and last year an old school friend sadly died from it aged just 50. I have just made a donation to a very worthy cause All the best Vi So sorry to hear about your loss too Vienna, it can be hard to comprehend and it seems so unjust when there are others that put their lives and health at risk unnecessarily. Thank you also for your very generous donation, it is certainly a worthy cause. There are thousands taking part worldwide in the event so there will be huge sums raised for the charities but despite that I sill hope to reach my target. Sam.
