Sorry to be the fly in the ointment, but I actually think 'The Family Way', which is broadly similar and set in the same area, is the better film. Both of course are Boulting Brothers productions originally from plays by Bill Naughton.

I have just finished watching this, I bought it on the strength of this thread and had not heard of it before. I then re-read the opening post here to see the locations as they made more sense having watched it through. If ever you plan to go up there again Gene, let me know.
Very, very enjoyable, I do like this type of film, I guess you could call it a Kitchen Sink Drama.

It's a great film Steve. I've always loved it. The cast and locations are superb. If there is enough interest in it I don't mind arranging a Spring & Port Wine Meet at some point  I might even be able to get my pal Bernie (who was in the film) to join us. Gene. |
