Haven't watched the race yet Windy but I am aware of what happened and it is unbelievable what Mercedes did. What a way to start his new contract term ! I was over the moon I didn't want Rosberg to win particularly but so long as the spoilt brat that is Hamilton didn't win meant it was all good. Its building between them two and i see some fireworks down the line. One to punt the other off track Senna and Prost style would make great viewing Interesting race on Sunday which I've just watched on catch up. VERY surprised Mercedes pitted Hamilton with that safety car considering none of the other front runners went in for new rubber and the projection the soft tyre would last to the end. Not a massive fan of Hamilton's but he was robbed of a victory very similar to the Schumacher/Montoya tunnel incident in 2004. Unlike that one Hamilton didn't put a foot wrong and someone at Mercedes needs to look closely at their race tactics as not the first time something similar to this has happened for them. At least it's re-ignited the title battle and would love Rosberg to grow a pair and race Hamilton hard in the coming races... (hope he does!) as fireworks or not it's probably his last chance to get a WDC IMO. Vettel did well to hold Hamilton off too and although the Ferrari is much better this year it's still not on the pace of the Mercedes. Some sloppy errors from Verstappen and Sainz so maybe these rookies aren't quite podium material yet and glad Jenson got some much needed points for McLaren too... but WTF must Alonso be thinking now seeing Vettel and Raikkonen consistently scoring points usually quite well too.

He should get a smaller watch. He'd be 2 tenths a lap faster without that thing on his wrist ! Gene. True but it's got to be that big to show 'the sponsors bling innit... innit'!

The live onboard pictures of Verstappen's crash were horrifying to watch. Amazing that he was able to walk away. Yeah that was scary to watch let alone what Verstappen must've felt being a part of it. Seemed quite similar to Schumacher's leg break crash at the British GP in 1999. Glad Max got out pretty much alright.

Yes, looking forward to this one Del. I wonder who will end up in the wall this year ? GH. Yeah the famous wall of champions as Brundle christened it. Don't think it's claimed any one for few races though.

Canadian GP this week. I love this track it's an all time favourite of mine. Knock out win from Lewis Hamilton, putting him back into the good place after the result from the previous race. 2015 Driver Standings 1 Lewis Hamilton GBR Mercedes 151 2 Nico Rosberg GER Mercedes 134 3 Sebastian Vettel GER Ferrari 108 Not the best race from Canada although excellent wheel to wheel racing from drivers further down the pack. Disaster day for McLaren.

Absolute disaster for Alonso & Button. Alonso's scathing rant on the radio was quite telling. His tussle with Vettel was fantastic to watch. A real highlight in what was one of the more mundane (comparatively) Canadian GP's.
Grosjean back to his old self with a ridiculous collision with Stevens.
I did for a while think the Mercedes duo (particularly Hamilton) were going to be in trouble towards the end with fuel but it amounted to nothing.
Good race for Bottas. He should be in a top team next year. Probably filling Raikkonens place after another lacklustre performance.

You're right guys a rather quiet race for this track but they can't all be fantastic can they ? No safety car drama this time out which is rare here. Raikkonen didn't cover himself in glory by spinning and handing a Podium finish to Bottas. It's a good bet that Ferrari would like to move Raikkonen on and refresh the team with the likes of Bottas, but equally it may be telling whether Bottas would want to play second fiddle to Vettel. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is Red Bull, who had another quiet race. Do we think they will carry out their threat and leave if Renault can't get there act together? Maybe further down the line they will become a Honda customer, even though they still have a fair bit of work to do. Personally I don't doubt that Honda will catch up the rest of the field. One thing that really pees me off is all this fuel saving lift off nonsense. Its really irritating ask Alonso

Good posts Gene and Del. Only really watched it in bits and pieces and was a bit of a snooze fest tbh. Shame Vettel couldn't have got a bit closer to Raikkonen and Bottas but the quali/failure probably put paid to that and kind of hope the Mercs start having some dramas as otherwise Lewis/Nico (probably Lewis) will canter the WDC. Alonso? Man he must be fuming with the decision he made to re-join McLaren and Ferrari's (sort of)-revival which if he was still there he'd probably make more of than Kimi - and Kimi's putting in some half decent performances too. Whatever's not working at McLaren they need to sort it ASAP as sponsors, tech staff and even the top drivers won't touch them with a bargepole. Also Red Bull are falling into this trap too and strange that Toro Rosso are on a par or better than them at the moment. Wouldn't surprise me if the did exit and maybe took up with an established team like Williams or even Ferrari.
