One thing that hasn't been mentioned is Red Bull, who had another quiet race. Do we think they will carry out there threat and leave if Renault can't get there act together? Yes. Crap team that's only interested in winning. If they are not winning they'll sell up. Renault are, I believe, thinking of leaving the sport anyway. But on the other hand, Gerhard Berger is witnessed at all the races these days, and he has to be up to something. Rumour has it Audi may be secretly building an F1 engine. The Chief of Red Bull is an Austrian, Berger is an Austrian. Putting two and two together ... ....

Interesting thought there Windy, and not a bit Cider induced. I too have noticed Berger has been present at each race.

Lets hope Audi come in. It would be an welcome addition and would shake things up a bit. Toyota proved it can be done when their entry was made a few years back. The engine was the best thing about their involvement. It's been recognised now though that the sports been slowed down too much, so a move to another or uprated version of these engines may suit new or disgruntled suppliers.

I saw some over the weekend and couldn't believe how tedious it was especially with the commentator discussing differences of charge level percentages.
And then there's the 'refuelling' stops where the driver pulls in to the garage, unbuckles and gets out of the car, walks across the garage and then climbs back in to a second, fully charged car!
Then there's the lack of noise...
I lasted less than 10 minutes before looking at the architecture in the background and trying to work out where the race was taking place.

Being a lover of all things VW, I hope that Audi or VW provide an engine/team in F1. VW are very successful in F3 (Max Verstappen drove a VW powered F3 last year) and a VW CC is proving to be hard to beat in the hands of Jason Plato in the BTCC. The VW Polo WRC has also been a winner so you never know, it just depends on money as ever I guess. If either of them did enter F1, I really hope that they have more success than Honda currently do.

I hope it happens Steve. Honda will get it right though i am convinced. It would be more damaging for them to give it up now.
Saying that there have been some poor engine suppliers over the years. Alfa Romeo in a Brabham in the 80s had a poor reputation i believe.
I don't know why the manufacturers don't just supply the engines to the teams. When they go to full team ownership it doesn't usually last that long. Honda, BMW, Toyota, Ford(Jaguar), Renault (twice) have dipped in and out.

Jenson has said today that he is ruling out ANY possibility of a podium finish this year. That's a shame as I think unfortunately, this may well be his last season in F1.

Could be but would you rule out a Williams return if Bottas gets his Bot over to Ferrari. If he keeps his trap shut and progresses with the car he might get a one year deal at McClapped out

If a seat at Williams were offered to him, I think he'd go. They are very competitive at the moment. I'd love to see him continue next year.
