Thanks again Villain for some classy car photos - enjoying these very much! I also note that Colin Petersons Ferrari 330 GTC survives and according to DVLA has changed colour to silver although there is a photo on the net at a classic car meet in more modern times when it was still red.
One of the MK2 Jaguars in the photo of the 2 cars still survives; 625DYT on the right recently sold through a C & C auction last July;
The Jag next to it only lasted till 1984 although a new V5 was issued in 1996.
Jensen Interceptors always look the business and those in the photos are no exception!
The 3 cars who's plates are visible in the service Department photos (along with the CV8 seen in the workshop and the 1966 Austin Healey 3000 parked next to another Interceptor) all survive as does the L registered car at the dealer premesis with it's original number.
I forgot to mention earlier that the photo taken the morning after the George Cornell shooting outside the Blind Beggar, shows what is said to be his Vauxhall Victor 101 (FC) car still parked outside.

Villain Great selection Villain The Harry Tavern seen above stood on the corner of Joshua Street & Brunswick Road, Poplar. It, along with a lot of other buildings were demolished to make way for the Soutbound approach to the second Blackwall tunnel. Gene.

It, along with a lot of other buildings were demolished to make way for the Soutbound approach to the second Blackwall tunnel. Gene. That's a crying shame Gene, all in the name of progress though of course. One of the striking things about a lot of these old period smudges is the skyline, apart from the odd tower black there's rarely anything taller in the background, it all looked so different then. Nowadays a lot of the older buildings in the capital look utterly dwarfed and hemmed in my all the new builds going up. A Rover P5B Coupe arrives at West London Air Terminal in 1970... Britt Ekland with her 'new toy' in the Harold Radford showroom, 124 King Street, Hammersmith on 4th October 1965, often said to be a present from husband Peter Sellers but in fact she had to buy it off him, this particular car was one of the first hatchback Minis that Radford did... my Nan worked in Edward Evans department store directly opposite... Portobello Road market in 1971, check out that Afghan coat... Villain

Some more period shots of '625 DYT'... I'm sure most on here will remember the famous TV clip of a white Jag Mk1 being driven off a cliff that was used in 'The Baron', 'Department S' and 'Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)', here it is at the bottom of the quarry they filmed it in back in 1965, the wreckage was taken back to Elstree and kept in storage until it was dragged out to be used in an episode of 'The Champions' (if you watch the clip carefully next time you view those series you'll notice that it goes off the cliff edge as a Mk2 and half way down becomes a Mk1)... Excellent stuff as always Villain The Thamesmead pic reminds me that I must have a wander round there sometime. As it's now at the end of the Elizabeth Line, it's easy enough to get to. Whether it'll still have that brutal 60s quality about it remains to be seen though.

Great snaps Vill, I note a lot of Beetles on offer in the Heathrow shot. Also regarding the Met Jag KYU 389D, that plate rang a bell and it seems this was mooted to have been in Villain, possibly. >>>KYU 389D Villain<<<

Great pics again. I remember Gerald Nabarro, he was often in the papers and the news, some controversy over a traffic offence when he tried to claim his secretary was driving his Jag with the NAB 1 plate. He was also involved in the early days of the Severn Valley railway and became chairman, but had to quit because he nearly caused a strike by the volunteers
