Paul Weller - "Wild Wood"In the video, Paul gets driven up and down South Carriage Drive, Kensington, before getting out the car opposite the rear of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hyde Park. The video also has various shots of Paul walking around an autumnal Hyde Park. Vid:- Paul gets out the car:- How it looks today:- (Pretty much the same really)

I saw this video for the first time on one of the music channels last night. For some reason I'd always thought that Boris Gardiner was a septic so it surprised me that the video locations were in London:
Boris Gardiner - I Want To Wake Up With You
The easy spot was Westbourne Park tube station as it is so clearly posted on the walls however other locations include the Westbourne Terrace Road footbridge at Little Venice and various views within Holland Park.

Another location spot came to my attention last night while watching one of the '80s music channels: David Bowie & Mick Jagger - Dancing In The Street I don't know why I hadn't spotted it previously because I recognised it in an instant when at 54 seconds in the filming was taken outside of the derelict building. I'd found the location previously for the following scene in The Long Good Friday where the roadway is located on the wharf between the Royal Albert and the King George V docks: This gave me the clue for the video in that it is further back along this road (the white building that MJ and DB jump out of can be seen way back in the distance to the left of the Jag) and further aerial photos I've found online also confirm. Nowadays this is the runway for London City Airport so the entire location of the video has been flattened and resurfaced for the runway. Sam.

Once again I was watching one of the '80s music channels last night and the program was themed for "Lesser known hits" of the '80s. Now this particular track I have no recollection of at all and as a "hit" it peaked at no.29 in the charts. Does anyone else remember it? Anyway, the locations used in the video were immediately recognisable to both me and Annie, one simply because it has been used in so many music videos, and the others because they are around Virginia Water lake in Windsor Great Park which is local to where we used to live and have walked through regularly. Cocteau Twins - Pearly Dewdrops' Drops: At 0:30 - this is the Grand Hall at what was Holloway Sanitorium in Virginia Water. The sanitorium appeared in music videos including Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart, The Cure - Charlotte Sometimes, Bucks Fizz - London Town, Adam and the Ants - Goody Two Shoes, Alphaville - Forever Young, and Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon. No internal views but if you have 3D enabled on Google maps then here is the sanatorium <<< Google >>>Throughout the video it cuts to internal shots around the corridors, the chapel, and through the Grand Hall of the sanitorium. At 1:03 - this is Virginia Water lake. The actual spot for the video was around 50 metres to the east of this image <<< Google >>>At 1:18 - this is Virginia Water lake again <<< Google >>>At 3:34 - this waterfall is known as The Cascade, it is effectively the overflow for Virginia Water lake and is located about 100 metres to the right of the previous image. <<< Google >>>Very much a video of the time but not a 'hit' that I recognise and one I can't work out the lyrics either. Sam.

Excellent spotting Sam. The old Sanatorium is a magnificent building and one I recognise from early episodes of Inspector Morse. Thanks for posting the details Gene.

Nice spot Sam, I was never really into them at the time but I quite like a bit of Cocteau Twins every now and then.
