I met Pete Waterman once, at the East Lancs Railway, in his capacity as a rail enthusiast, he did work on the railway before he went into music. As a railway man I respect him, as a music producer I think he was terrible! I'm pretty sure he once said in a documentary that if he could live his life again he would have been happier as train driver. Pete's work with heritage rail is top notch can't fault him with that.

Away from choo-choo trains and back to topic: This video from The Pretenders cropped up in my Youtube feed earlier. Now I must admit I'm not really a great fan but their music is okay, fairly innocuous, and not something I'd skip by when it is playing. But, despite the video being a poor rip-off of The Avengers, while watching it I noticed a number of locations which with a couple of minutes on Google streetview was able to provide the link to. At 0:22 Chrissie Hynde is seen getting into a Reliant Scimitar SS1, this is outside 47 Holland Park Mews, London. Google StreetviewAt 1:12 she is tricked into turning right at a fork in the road. I can't guarantee this but it appears to be the junction of Alderbourne Lane and Cherry Tree Lane near Langley Corner. Google StreetviewAt 1:31 she is peering through some foliage at a country house, this is St. Hubert's House, Gerrards Cross. No streetview available just a satellite view: Google MapsAt 2:51- 3:15 she is seen crossing Albert Bridge. Google StreetviewFinally she returns to 47 Holland Park Mews where some poor editing sees her meeting up with John Steed. Sam.

The Human League's "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" was filmed in and around a property on the junctions of First Avenue and Third Avenue in Plaistow. Now demolished and redeveloped no-one would be any the wiser from the street view here: (Keep Feeling) FascinationHowever, when zooming back out from streetview to the satellite view there is a not-so-subtle clue in Google Maps that ties in with the map in the opening seconds of the video: You Are Here:When clicking on the link it also states that it is a cocktail bar! Edit 10/05/2023: The "Cocktail Bar" link on Google has now been removed. Sam.

The Human League stood on the steps of St Saviour's Church, Warwick Avenue, London, to film the wedding scene for the "Love Action" video goo.gl/maps/vuHAMNQfDJwNLgtX7

Strange you should post this when Utah Saints, Believe in Me which samples this was on BBC Four's TOTP repeats this week too. Both good tracks for me.

Funnily enough, I watched TOTPs on Friday and it was great to see Utah Saints perform this in the studio. So much so that I thought I'd check out the original Human League track, and when watching the video, I thought the church looked a bit familiar - a building often passed when leaving The Warrington and heading down to Warwick Avenue tube station.

I shudder to think how many times that I've seen this video over the years and it was only while seeing it again on the Now 70s music channel tonight that I realised where the location actually was. First the vid: The tall building in the background is the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London. >>> Google Streetview <<< here showing the hotel and the long wall that can be seen in the clip behind Ray Dorset. Sam.

I've still a lot to discover as I hadn't noticed this thread until Sam made his last posting!
Some great discoveries in this. I love the Unit 4+2 Concrete and Clay one as I'm really interested in that part of London. I can see Great Arthur House with its distinctive curved roof plant in the background.
I'll add one I'm already aware of, Madness's Uncle Sam...
The George & Mildred-esque street is Oakley Close, Hanwell, London SW7.
A private road so is somewhere the Google streetview car has feared to tread.
