And another thing I don't get:
Why is it that we collectively as a civilized society are happy to frequent burger franchises such as McDonalds, Burger King, etc and are happy to eat with our hands? At any other restaurant or café we would expect to be served cutlery to be able to consume our food.
It is rare for me to scoff food without eating irons and if I do ever have a burger and chips it is mainly as a takeaway so that I can go home to use a plate and cutlery. If I don't have such a choice I will make sure that my hands are clean when I sit down to scoff. Having picked up the Norovirus once some years ago I am now paranoid about getting it again. I'm well aware that I could do with losing some weight but losing 14 pounds over two days was an extreme weight loss regime that I do not wish to repeat.
It concerns me when I visit somewhere like McDonalds in that they have iPads for kids to use while eating (and that's another separate issue!) as well as food ordering stations that are all touch screens. How many grotty hands have been there first? How many hands that have not been washed after a visit to the khazi? How many hands that have been swept through greasy hair? How many hands that have been used to scratch various parts of the anatomy? Arse flakes anyone?
It amazes me that so many people are prepared to comply with the regression that eating with our fingers actually is and that it is in some way the accepted, if not preferred, method to consume a burger
Sam. Saw this and thought of you Sam

Vegas has little appeal for me either, Steve. My cousin seems to love the place and is a regular visitor most years, especially if Barry Manilow is in concert over there Vi Thought he was dead along with Elvis. Barry Manilow "came out of the closet" a couple of years ago. I heard he was involved with the writing of another musical. Not sure how true that is.

I must have been thinking of Val Dominican. Weirdly. Who the hell is Val Dominican?? He definitely isn't Val Doonican. However, probably would prefer Dominican records. Val DOMINICAN is a Val Doonican tribute act. (Not really, but it wouldn't suprise me!)

ROFL Sparky. Val Doomican could sound like a member of Star Turn or something.

What a dreadful image...
How about an Obese Abba tribute - "Flabba"? (with the chart topping "Burger King, Here we go again, my my.."!)

Whilst I thought beating up the climate protesters who were on that train yesterday was well over the top, pulling them off was entirely reasonable.

It was Canning Town which is towards London's East End, the protestors would have known that no-one would have invited them down for a friendly discussion regarding their concerns over a cup of tea and some Garibaldis and pink wafers!
I'm not condoning the actions by either party but I'm surprised that the protestors got away as lightly as they did when all the on-board passengers had to de-train and all those waiting were prevented from getting on. Emotions often boil over for some on a normal day's commute so a provocative action like that would always end up with tempers flaring. The protestors should be thankful that they weren't hospitalized.

Those climate change idiots have been asking for this. Interfering with probably low paid workers trying to get to and from work, using public transport, which is electrically operated and non polluting anyway was the height of stupidity.
I hope that they disappear into obscurity as quickly as possible, all they have achieved is to p*** people off, one of their fruit cakes was on question time last week, spouting rubbish. Scaremongering and hypocrisy central.
