Those climate change idiots have been asking for this. Interfering with probably low paid workers trying to get to and from work, using public transport, which is electrically operated and non polluting anyway was the height of stupidity. I hope that they disappear into obscurity as quickly as possible, all they have achieved is to p*** people off, one of their fruit cakes was on question time last week, spouting rubbish. Scaremongering and hypocrisy central. Aren't they just alienating those people not protesting - when in fact they'd have been better off trying to get them on their side and back their cause. In other words - there are better ways to go about their point. Standing on top of trains, stopping traffic (causing congestion), breaching security at Airports isn't the way to be doing it.
I found it quite amusing that they were sat on top of Electric trains.... Though, had they tried it at Kings Cross, Euston, Paddington - the total sum of Protester + 25,000volts AC would have been messy. Saying that - someone slipping under the Tube train and catching a 600v DC rail wouldn't be that picturesque either.
Had there been an injury, or worse still a fatality - that would have moved the focus totally away from their cause. The focus would then have been on those protesting, how they got on top of a train in the first place, why the police didn't do anything to prevent it etc...
The focus therefore moved away from the point they are trying to make - and overshadowed by a serious injury or fatality.
There is a certain section of people who purposely jump on the bandwaggons of very Protest - just for the sake of protesting - and are not really bothered about or understand the cause. It's those who tend to create the issues seen recently. Tarring those legit protesters with the same brush.

They will damage their case if they’re not careful and I believe there is a serious case for change and looking after the environment. Just need to it responsibly.

And so Bonfire Night is only a few weeks away; and it's that time of year again... Time for the moronic Imbeceils to buy a cheap box of fireworks and then throw them around in the street. Was up for work at 3AM this morning, so not in the best of moods...
So - we finish our work at some council flats - some very receptive residents and locals - especially to 40 odd people rolling up in trucks and vans and taking place over for something that "may" appear on TV for 40seconds....
Though they all got free Breakfasts and Lunches!
On wrap at 2pm (a carefully selected finish time, as there is a large Comp School opposite - who finish at 2.45pm) - a Chavved up VW Golf GTI starting circling the area, constantly driving round the block. The 4 occupants of which didn't look old enough to be out of nappies, never mind drive
On their 3rd and 4th lap, they thought it amusing to fire Rockets at us from the car as they sailed passed.
These things were going everywhere, exploding in the road, pathways, peoples gardens - it was like working in Iraq (without the Oil).
About 4 of us photographed these idiots on our phones - and when the Police did finally roll up our photos were no real use as the identifications weren't that good enough... (what did they want - us to set our camera back up and use a long lense?)
I love a good Bonfire and Firework do, always have done.
But I thought shops had stopped selling fireworks to idiots? Why drive round shooting rockets at people?

There ought to be strict controls on who can buy fireworks, why they're on sale in the high street baffles me, they're explosives ffs
UK police are toothless as well, not sure what the police are for these days other than acting as social workers, turning up en masse at demonstrations or protecting important people, I never see any in my town.
It's illegal to let fireworks off between 11pm & 7am, all this has done is give the green light to kids to let them off during the day.

I was under the impression that the laws surrounding the sale of Fireworks had radically changed. No longer could you waltz into the local off Licence and buy a box of 'Standard' (or Brocks) Fireworks.
As I understand it, they also changed the laws on who can buy them. Fireworks over a certain size, such as the large Rockets and even those Shells they fire from cardboard mortars buried in the ground - could only be sold to someone who held the respective licence - and was registered as an official operator.
The Rockets being chucked at us this afternoon were a bit bigger than your average banger and garden rocket. Where the hell they got them from is anyone's guess.
And how they afforded them too...
PS Is a Chavved up Golf GTI and offence these days?

I remember them banning the mortar types ones after someone got killed when one went off early. When I was a kid they made ones called planes which had little cardboard wings and flew at head height across the garden. Can’t see what’s wrong with that.

The Mortar ones were banned for sale to anyone after some Head Teacher at a school blew his head off (literally) - he lit the shell, retreated and it didn't go off. So he returned to it armed with his torch to have a look, he peered over the Mortar tube with his torch and..... Game over.
I remember the cheap and cheerful bangers and those Traffic Light ones...

I like a good fireworks display but to have your own half decent one you to spend a few hundred quid to watch it go up in smoke, literally!
