A far bigger selection on 3 June 2017.
I think this might be the not very good Ferrari Mondial. Bonus yellow advertising Smart car stuck upon an equally yellow container, and on the left a sneak preview of what's up next.
1969 H reg Austin Mini 1000. I think this might be a Mk2, and certainly makes a change from the usual more latter day Minis. The tax expired 1st Apr 2018. Like the Ferrari, it had notices in the windows, but I couldn't make out what they were when passing by. Most probably for sale ones I suppose.
Less than a week after the one outside Victor's original home, here's another Mk1 Fester. 1983 1.1. Still on the road now. Hopefully having since been resprayed!
I think these are sufficiently rare enough. And being a fan of 80s and 90s Touring Car racing, I immediately thought Gabrielli Tarquini when I saw it. An Alfa 155 if you didn't know.
1987 Merc SL300 on a personalised R suffix plate. Still on the road.
Yet another clean looking Golf Mk2. 1989 1800. Still on the road.
Even in the in-motion version, it was never quite clear from the footage if this was a three or four wheeler. But I was able to tell from my driving position and comment as such that it was a three, and therefore a Robin, not a Kitten. Couldn't quite make out the reg but looked to be on an old-money T.
And still the equine Ford Cargos keep turning up. But this one appeared not to just be a horse box, but a veritable horse winnebago!
1988 Fiesta Mk2 1100 with very much non-factory standard wheels, and a bit of the old black paint around the B pillar area. Still on the road.
Back to a more lower class one. Also sporting an Iveco badge for some reason. Was there a tie up with them and Ford at some stage?
Having stated previously that there wasn't much Midgets about, here comes another one. Hazy sunny conditions and couldn't make out the reg. But nice silver grille this one is packing.
And the third old Fester of the day, and the 2nd Mk2. Dunno what the story with this one was, as it didn't appear to be kitted out for bangerdom, and still had a reg plate. Could make out it was an A prefix, but the rest was a bit obscure and several attempts at various permutations of that it could be kept turning up unrelated stuff.
The Midget count remains at two, because this was a 1970 Austin Healey Sprite. Currently on a SORN.
Dashboard reflection certainly doesn't help, but no idea what this was! I'm assuming it was road legal!
Another one of those not-as-old-as-they-look nuptials conveyances. A 1980 Beauford Tourer. Still on the road. Obviously!
Dashcam spotting is great, because it's a nice lazy way of getting (lowish fi) pics of classics out on the normal roads. But here's a perfect illustration of when it's not great. Beetles and Type 2s of course ten a penny, but Type 3s are ultra rare. So, the one chance I see one, it's being partially obscured by a bloody great pole during the footage.
So I'll have to throw in a part two just to get a bit more of it in! I don't think I've seen any others of these since, but I may be wrong.
This caught my eye. Couldn't quite tell what it was. Presumably Jap, and looked a bit 80s.
1987 Golf 2 1300. Nice to see one that isn't blue! Still on the road.
And to finish on something of an anti-climax, another pre oval grille Escort Mk5. Despite the reg number being as clear as day, absolutely no record of this on the DVLA. I do find the DVLA records a bit strange. It still has record of the V reg Chrysler Alpine that I had up to the late 80s albeit tax long expired and obviously long gone from this world. but the 56 reg Fiesta I had up to 2008 is totally missing from the look up. Would love to know the reasoning for that.
