Thanks for running this poll Steve I was somewhat surprised that the voting produced 3 clear results. I was expecting some of the late sixties early seventies Carry On's to get a much bigger share of the vote.

I was expecting some of the late sixties early seventies Carry On's to get a much bigger share of the vote. 1965 to 1969 just edged it over 1970 to 1974, I think that's fair since the mid to late 60's was probably the golden age for Carry On, just my opinion anyway.

Yeah I would agree the late 60s early 70s was the peak of Carry On.

Surprised 'Convenience' won, I've always thought it was quite bog standard!
Apparently it didn't do well at the box office in comparison with other Carry Ons, the Carry On writer Robert Ross argues that its commercial failure was because the main audience for Carry On films, the working class, took exception to the mocking of trade unions. I honestly can't see it myself brothers.

Interesting result to your poll Steve. Clearly the contemporary films are much more popular than the period ones. Suprising how well Cabby did gaining 7 votes when all the other black and white films together got only 3 votes.
