Inspired by the forthcoming 4:3TV Meet, here's a poll to find the Forum's favourite Carry On. Because of the sheer number of films made, each voter can choose 3 films. The poll will close the day after the meet, just in case you feel inspired!!
I didn't include That's Carry On as that is a compilation and not a true film.
Have fun and as Sid would say...
I've gone for Carry On Screaming, Sergeant & Cabby. Screaming has the added bonus of Harry H Corbett who I think plays the role of Detective Sergeant Sidney Bung perfectly. Some great one liners too - "frying tonight!" Sergeant features Bob Monkhouse, a comedy great and Cabby too has a certain something about it, the black and white ones are a joy.

Nice work Steven. This is a good idea for a poll in advance of 4:3's Carry On Meet . I haven't seen all these films but from the dozen or so i have seen i tend to like the late 60's early 70's ones. Looking forward to the meet.

Great idea for a poll Steve. It's hard to choose really, but I've gone for, 1. Carry On screaming. (I can watch that film again and again and still laugh.) 2. Carry on Matron. And, 3. Carry On Cabby, (My favourite early one.) It's hard to leave some of the others out. I believe a lot of people think Khyber is the best one, and Carry On Cleo is very good too. By the way I think it was a great loss to the series when Jim Dale left. He was really good. I wasn't very keen on Richard O' Callaghan in some of the later ones. Anyway those are my choices. Behind, Convenience & Abroad for me. Behind is probably my favourite despite missing some of the regulars, Williams & Elke Sommer are very good together. The dvd commentaries can be entertaining, the Abroad one features John "Frewin" Clive. John Clive was a novelist of WW2 bestsellers when not acting ( in fact the writing overtook his acting ) www.amazon.co.uk/BROKEN-WINGS-PANTHER-BOOKS-CLIVE/dp/B001O2L566/ref=sr_1_8?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1457796026&sr=1-8In his obituary I read that the last, unpublished book he wrote was based on the death of David Kelly, the UN weapons inspector. Williams notes in his diaries that he, Elke Sommer & Bernard Bresslaw had a discussion about the EEC, with he & Sommer being in favour of the UK being in it & Bresslaw being against.

That's interesting, that would have been around the time of the first referendum in 1975. I wonder what their positions would be now if they were still alive ? Anyway enough of that. I've got Kenneth William's Diarys, I've not read them all they through yet though.

Good idea for a poll, Steve As I like them all, except the last three on the list, it was a difficult choice. I went for: 1) Behind 2) Camping 3) Up The Jungle Vi
