Oh tell me this isn't true ?
No good will come of it. Look at what that pair of prats did to The Likely Lads!

Is nothing sacred? Allegedly the BBC are considering remakes of classic comedies being bought up to date. Porridge will feature Fletcher's grandson, also named Fletch, doing time for computer hacking. Full story 》》》 HERE 《《《Please note that there is strong language in the comments section, particularly by someone called Simon Warford! Sam can't you c***s in the bbc come up with something new? W*****s Sums it up perfectly, I have nothing more to say! The Saint

They should leave well alone, you can't remake a classic! Rupert, on the subject of classic comedies, I do hope ITV would never consider a remake or updated version of Rising Damp in the future .

The BBC not stopping at just a remake of Porridge. They’re also thinking about The Good Life and Are You Being Served. These are classic comedies and they are of their time. All they'll succeed in doing is tarnishing the memory of the originals. Many of the things that made AYBS funny are considered too un PC today. The joke where Mrs Slocombe keeps innocently referring to her cat as, “my pussy”, which was completely funny then, surely could not be written into a remake. Or is nothing sacred ?

It wouldn't just be Mrs Slocombe's pussy either. Think about Mr Humphries (although they could cast myself in that role!), young Mr Grace with his 'nurses', and Miss Brahms pushing her chest out.
Sam.

Rupert, on the subject of classic comedies, I do hope ITV would never consider a remake or updated version of Rising Damp in the future . I should hope not Vienna! What our Vienna is irreplaceable lol :) Well put from Saint and the other lads for me just don't see the mileage from remarking classic shows. Sure you can use them as inspiration for new things but as we've all said it never recaptures the same spirit of the original and what made it good to begin with too. Same with a lot of post X Factor pop music imho :(
