A great set of photos that i missed at the time Its astonishing how many of the top footballers were living in quite ordinary three bed houses. Whilst there were a few larger houses on show the levels of money compared to now are worlds apart. Football lost its local even national feel to it and I must say I preferred watching it in those eras.

Not 70s, but I used to go there a lot in the 70s, other sports news, the reconstituted Bury are back at Gigg Lane, four years after being kicked out of the league. They are now in the bottom tier of the pyramid and played their first game back home yesterday against League 2 Bradford City in a friendly.

Good luck to them For the sake of the community that lost their club I hope they can get it back up and running well.
