The commentary is with Wickes & assistant director Bill Westley, Westley asks about the poster & Wickes claims 'I knew I was going to make it ( Silver Dream Racer ), so I put it up there', which sounds unlikely as the film wasn't made until 5 years after Night Out.

I've been to this wonderful pub on about three ocassions now. Twice on Sweeney meets and last Summer I took about five mates there when we had a day in London (also took them to Colet Gardens). I think we got off the tube at Maida Vale.
The pub has not changed at all. My mates were blown away by it. It really is pretty much the same as when the episode was filmed there. also, good real ales on tap and compared to some of the filthy prices you pay for beer in London it was pretty reasonable.

I've been watching this one again recently. It is one episode I'm quite fond of.
What I wonder is, What does actually change Jacks mind ? He tells Iris that he told them to "Stuff it until your name came up" but thats not true is it ? Because Grant tells Jack about Iris Earlier in the scene then it's after that He says "Well I'm having nothing to do with it..Nothing"
Just something I always notice and also when the pub landlord calls Iris she seems to answer the phone too quickly I think to be realistic.
Great episode though and I love the line at the beginning from Jim (Mr Rycot) "Get these down ya and get on with it, Don't look like that son you aint started yet"
