Funny you should remember those cut out puppets Nightfly, I looked at the listings, they appeared in the following weeks issues. The first & second shows of the first series are on yt, did not transfer very well from radio to tv but no worse than some of the other not particularly funny tv sketch shows of the time. As for Kenny Everett, again I think his talent for silly voices & jingles was ok for radio but I don't think characters like Sid Snot ( who was basically the same as Gizzard Puke ), Cupid Stunt, that French character, etc. were strong enough to sustain a tv show & like 'Hello Cheeky' the writing wasn't great. Both shows had a shambolic aspect to them, later adopted by Tiswas, with the camera crew joining in, etc. that I find irritating, it's as if they knew the material was weak so they had to make up for it by being silly. Spike Milligan & Monthy Python were guilty of that at times as well. Hello Cheeky also features Denis King who wrote the music to 'Sweeney!' & the theme to The Adventures Of Black Beauty.

Great thread AP, I find the old TV Times graphics to indicate 'comedy', 'news', 'drama' etc very evocative of the time.
Do vaguely remember A Place To Hide, would love to see that again

Turns out it wasn't an insert and you had to provide your own card and glue. I do remember cutting them out and making them, before they were probably banished to the bin a day or two later when I got bored. However, it was mildly amusing to the 12 year old me at the time... a bit like the actual show. As Three Litre says, a bit of cr*p radio show that was even worse when it transferred to TV.

Do vaguely remember A Place To Hide, would love to see that again I'm glad someone else remembers the series. It cleverly built up tension in the first few episodes where nothing happened, but you knew something bad was about to occur. By the looks of the listing, it was half way through the series before the baddies had their cover blown. Episode One is on the Network DVD compilation Look-Back on 70s Telly Issue 3, but the rest haven't been released. There's even a FB fan page for the series, but unfortunately all the posts seem to be "Has anyone got the series?".

Can't really remember anything of the series, other than some (possibly false!) memory of a photofit the 3 protagonists....funny what details stick in the mind!

Cheers Arthur. I note the Programme at 2:25 PM - Boney - Although I've never seen any episodes, I've read about it, and it was an Australian Police Detective series starring James Laurenson as D.I Napolean Bonaparte, who was based on the book character "Bony" - a half aboriginal Police Detective who used his Outback knowledge to crack crimes including murder.
26 episodes were produced during 1971-72 and 2 series. Professionals fans may know the actor as he played Meredith in "Stopover". He also had parts in many other TV series (including well known ones) and last acted on film in 2018 according to the IMDB.
