A really great idea Arthur, thanks for these! I can remember bits of that era well! I notice that was the first transmission of The Professionals episode "Blind Run" - an episode with a fairly basic plot but full of action!
Being ITV, Saturday morning kids TV was interesting to see, and had to compete against BBC1's Noel Edmonds Swap Shop, amongst other things. Although my next door neighbour mate was a fan of the Ron Ely Tarzan series. Great memories!
Noel Edmonds Swap Shop had to compete with Tiswas, which might have been a bit later than 78.

Noel Edmonds Swap Shop had to compete with Tiswas, which might have been a bit later than 78. Tiswas began in 1974 as a local Midlands programme for kids to phone in and ask for clips of films etc; presented from the in vision announcers studio at ATV. Between 1975 & 1978 it was gradually taken up by other regions. Then in 1979 - it was networked across the country.
There was always this "Are you a Tiswas or a Swap Shop kid" - our TV set had the ITV button gaffer taped down!!
Did anyone ever try to swap their wife on Swap Shop?

Did anyone ever try to swap their wife on Swap Shop? Yes Swap Shop came a bit later than Tiswas too, but started October 1976. I seem to remember the kids at my school talked about Tiswas so they were Tiswas kids!

Think I remember watching the Flint film with James Coburn at the time.

Thanks again, Arthur. I have just spotted the episode of Crown Court is written by Jim Allen who specialised in social comment plays about the underprivileged such as The Spongers and Days of Hope. The subject matter of this episode seems to be on a similar theme and stars Peter Kerrigan and Tom Georgeson who would go on to work together in Boys From The Blackstuff. I don't remember this particular episode of Crown Court, so it must have been a week when I wasn't bunking off school with a dose of flu. Nothing like a bit of General Hospital in the afternoon with your Lemsip too...

Michael Elphick cast against type as a lawyer, he can't have played many parts like that in his career, had a look on yt for that episode, I can't see it but saw Elphick in another one with a posh voice. Never heard him use a posh voice in any role until now.
