It looks very rakish in that ad, as do the couple in the background... Villain

A worthy rival to the 1600E MK2 Cortina I thought, but somehow didn't quite make the same sales. Always thought the Hunter was a competent car though and very charismatic advert! Thanks Gene!
Can't remember seeing too many GT's though, as all the Hunters I remember seeing on the roads as a lad, seemed to be the ordinary Deluxe, GL, estate etc. Remember a few of the later GLS model though which were an improvement in performance from the GT with the 93 BHP engine and Humber Sceptre style grille and dual headlamps.

I like Hunters, I had one, an N regd 1500 deluxe. They had a lot of grille variations, the one in the ad was replaced in 72 with a black/silver one with slightly smaller headlamps ( the best one, I thought) they were almost all L or M regd. From 74 the grille was more chrome, with the same headlamps, and they added a slightly cheap looking chrome rear panel, this was the one I had.
For the last two years of production, 77-79, they had four round headlamps and the Humber Sceptre type grille

Note the factory 'XC' registrations on both cars, and the P6 is one of the first 3500 V8 production cars built, designated P6B. The prototype of these was a 2000 with modified engine bay to allow the Buick V8 to drop in. From about 1969 onwards Rover used the same imagery in some of their brochures, but fudged the reg' number suffixes to save money! Keep 'em coming Guv Villain

Thanks for sharing Gene, anyone spot the typo on the ad?
