Post your retro car adverts here. Here's one to start from 1973. The MG Midget.

This must have persuaded Bob and Thelma to part with their hard-earned:

I saw this tongue in cheek Triumph Stag advert a few years ago... looks like the summer of '76!

Here's a selection of classic adverts for Skellys Ford a dealer (then) mainly based in Glasgow/West Scotland with unusually a dealership in Bootle/Merseyside from the '70's too.
'Skellys' later became 'The Ian Skelly Centre' and switched from Ford to Volkswagen/Audi in the 1980's and also expanded into the Manchester area too before ceasing trading in the late '90's. I'm not sure if Skellys had an issue with Ford which necessitated the switch to VAG or whether the associated 'Stormont' and the current 'Peoples Ford' had/have some connection with them too.
This railway bridge in Walton, Liverpool nearby to the Skellys dealership in Bootle used to have a painted advert for them (Skellys) up until roughly a decade or so too, shame they painted it as it was pretty much untouched and a good time capsule too.

Remembering car adverts I often think of the 90s Renault Clio ads with "Nicole" and "Papa" It was said at the time that the actress who played her couldn't actually drive. She apparently passed her test aged 18 Vi
