I was watching "Britain's Biggest 70's Hits" from My5 last night and this particular episode covered 1977. Some great music that year during which up popped Leo Sayer. Maybe not to everyone's taste and not an artist I ever bought a single, album or CD of but never one that I objected to or would change the radio channel for: The main location is instantly recognisable as being shot in, on and around Brighton's Palace Pier but wind forward to 3:20 in and Leo is at the Devil's Dyke on the South Downs a few miles north of Brighton. The stone block on which he's perched and the seat alongside can be seen here: >>> Devil's Dyke <<<Sam.

Did they also shoot the video for Thunder in My Heart down in Brighton and on the South Downs too? Possibly at the same time, though after a quick clothing change.

Good spot that Sparky, looks to be exactly the same video, not even a change of clothing. Bloody cheapskate! Or maybe it was something cobbled together by the Beeb to show if he couldn't appear on TOTP? Sam.

Or maybe it was something cobbled together by the Beeb to show if he couldn't appear on TOTP? Sam. I'd think it was cobbled together by the Record company; and for cheapness used both locations on the same day. Hard to believe they managed to shoot two music videos using two different locations in effectively 2 days. Could have been the BBC though...
Thing is - back then, music videos were far and few between as they were expensive to make, so reserved for the larger bands - record companies wouldn't take the risk unless the song was doing something in the charts and the artiste was in demand.
So invariably, it'd be a cobbled together, last minute thing as the record rises through the charts in a few countries, the artiste would then be in demand and obviously can't be in two places at once.
I have seen the When I need you video no end of times and never put the two together, until you posted earlier - oddly, the Thunder in My Heart video had been on a music channel on TV about 1 hour before - so it was still fresh in my mind!

Thanks to Gene for posting this image from the R&H Locations thread for the episode "Vendetta For A Dead Man" of Battersea Park funfair: It has confirmed that my thoughts are correct that this is the location of the 1969 Love Affair video for "Bringing On Back The Good Times": Sam.

Okay so not the entire video but just part of it: The scenes where Rick Astley has been filmed 'dancing' beneath a brick built bridge such as 0:08 seconds in is a location that should be very familiar to many squad members as it is beneath the Freston Road railway bridge in Holland Park. The street lamp shown in the video appears to be an added piece of street furniture for effect. Sam.

Although the majority of this video is filmed in the studio and on a set, there is an external location view at just 7 seconds in: This night time shot has been taken just yards from the studio and is one of the buildings at Stamford Brook Bus Garage. Whilst there are no Google streetview images available those that have Google Earth will be able to see the building here: >>> Stamford Brook Bus Garage <<<For those without Google Earth: https://www.instagram.com/p/CdN5KvGqQ7L Sam.

Excellent spot Sam A good track an'all. Haven't heard if for years and was totally oblivious to the fact the video was shot at Stamford Brook. Gene.

One Hit Wonders, SL2, filmed part of the video for “On A Ragga Tip” on East Row, Kensal Town, London. Sweeney aficionados will recognise the exact same spot, which featured in the episode “Hard Men”. Hard Men:- On A Ragga Tip:- Full Video :- Thanks to Gene for the Hard Men screen grab.
