Sovereign light cafe by Keane was filmed on Bexhill seafront not a million miles from where I live. They come from Battle as well so a close location for them to choose.

Good one BG. There's something about a track like that that brings the area to life for someone outside of the area. The track lyrics include so many road names and locations around the area that they are clearly local (as you'd mentioned), they have great affection for the place and there's something almost biographic about the song. Although there wasn't a similar video it reminds me of Dire Straits "Tunnel of Love" where Mark Knopfler's lyrics talk of Cullercoats, Whitley Bay, and in particular The Spanish City at Whitley Bay outside which there are now some of the song's lyrics engraved into the steps. This was biographic for MK from his youth at the funfair of the time. Sam.

Pink Floyd – Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)
The video starts with a view across London towards St Paul’s. The camera then pans round to eventually focus on St. Clement’s Church King in King’s Square Gardens, Islington. Pic shows the church, the park where the kids are playing, and the block of flats where the camera filmed the entire scene

Good photos and location, unfortunately, it's a song I can't stand!
Strangely, 1978 and 79 are my two favourite musical years, but the number 1 records from the start and finish of the two years I think are both awful (Mull of Kintyre and Brick in the wall)

Another one from the Now 70s music channel tonight: >>> Tony Christie - I Did What I Did For Maria <<<(Can't post the clip on here as it has been restricted) An okay song that's not one of TC's best, a bit of 'dad dancing', and a weak superimposed backdrop clip all contribute to make a weak video for the song. Certainly not up to the level of Avenues and Alleyways. However, it was not difficult to spot Brighton's instantly recognisable Madeira Terrace as well as the Palace Pier as they were back in 1971. Here is one of two videos made by Christie for their single Yellow River, this being with numerous easily recognised locations:
Despite the subject matter supposedly being about a US soldier returning home after the American Civil War and written at the time of the Vietnam War the video opens with the group on a boat sailing up the Thames alongside the Palace of Westminster with Westminster Bridge and the palace's St. George's Tower to the background. Next it cuts to the group emerging from beneath Vauxhall Bridge after which they speed up river to Richmond Bridge before going back down river to emerge from beneath Hammersmith Bridge. Finally there is a distant shot which seems to be of a different boat taken from Richmond Hill across Petersham Meadows to the island off of Meadowbank.

One that popped up last night on the Now 80's channel was this one:
An 'okay' tune but crap video.
Outside of what looks to be a budget inspired white Tardis the group are seen frollicking down London's Regent Street and then again in wet-suits (???) in a rainy Gerrard Street in London's China Town.
It must have been a real riot for them....
Sam.

How totally useless were bus shelters in those days?
