There was a show about French jet fighter pilots in the early '70s, can't remember the name.

I remember early Playschool in my day and Trumpton and Camberwick Green, Noddy and The Magic Roundabout!
Who remembers Rupert the Bear (with them tune sang by Jackie Lee) with the characters as puppets, the thing that was called "Raggety" was a bit scary looking! It ran from 1970-77.
Now you mentioned Robinson Crusoe, I don't remember that especially but another series was "The White Horses" - which they showed on kids BBC TV, which was made in 1965 and a German/Yugoslavian co production. For the UK it was dubbed in to English and given a UK market theme tune - again..... sang by Jackie Lee. It was shown in Britain from 1968 and repeated for many years afterwards.
I also saw Huckleberry Finn (repeated a number of times) and also remember a number of foreign language Childrens dramas were shown from around 1979 onwards which were "children fighting crime" stories updated for modern stories and came from countries like Spain and and eastern Europe. They had a constant English narrator over the top of the visual film and the original films foreign voices could be heard, this was done rather than dubbing into English.
Playschool was shown on BBC2 at 11am for many years, and then the same programme would be repeated on BBC1 during the afternoon just before the Childrens Programmes began.
I remember seeing a clip of Jackie Lee singing "Rupert the Bear" on 'Golden Shot'. I think the clip was from around 1972. White Horses had a great Theme Tune; that was repeated throughout the 70s on the BBC.
I used to like a lot of the Childrens Dramas - don't forget, back then we had the Childrens Film Foundation run by Rank - which produced some top drama and feature films. I seem to remember similar childrens film foundation films from Canada and Australia - I think it's only the latter who still have a childrens film foundation.
ITV went through a phase of showing Childrens Travel logs - obviously re-dubbed.
Huck Finn - I loved, even after watching 20,000 times!
And then there's Follyfoot.....

Yes, I remember White Horses and the great theme tune, sung by Jackie Lee. It got into the top 10 in the late 60s

That was played at my friend’s mum’s funeral 3 years ago. I’d never heard it before though.

I haven't a memory of what I watched as a very young child, the earliest memory would be of the BBC summer morning line up from the late 70's & 80's, Champion The Wonder Horse, Play Chess, Why Don't You etc. I enjoyed the Flash Gordon & King Of The Rocketmen serials from the 40s & The Flashing Blade, The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, etc., impossible to imagine 1940's serials, French programmes dubbed in English or Laurel & Hardy shorts being aimed at kids today.

I remember the BBC repeating the old Flash Gordon serials around Christmas '76 or '77, in the mornings I think.

Where to start? I have always loved TV and I watched it a lot when I was younger. I think my earliest recollection of TV was "Mary, Mungo & Midge" but the list below is just a small snapshot of what I can remember watching. Considering there were only 3 TV channels, this list is quite impressive.
Mr Benn The Clangers Animal Kwackers Magpie Worzel Gummidge Metal Mickey Supergran Play School Play Away Rainbow Stepping Stones Trumpton Camberwick Green Chigley Cheggars Plays Pop Hold Tight! Swap Shop Tiswas Record Breakers Bod The Hair Bear Bunch Inch High Private Eye Hong Kong Phooey Yogi Bear Inspector Gadget The New Schmoo Mr Rossi Dogtanion & The Three Musketeers Around The World In 80 Days Heidi The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Jackanory Blue Peter Crackerjack Jigsaw Vision On Take Hart Bagpuss Picture Box Screen Test Willo The Wisp The Perishers The Wombles Roobard & Custard Grange Hill Dear Heart Paddington Warner Bros cartoons such as Bugs Bunny, Tweetie Pie & Sylvester, Wile Coyote & Roadrunner, Daffy Duck. Jamie & The Magic Torch Chorlton & The Wheelies Think Of A Number Why Don't You G Force
Well, that's do for a start. How many of these do my fellow forum members remember?
