I know their first album inside out, the second album partially and not much of the later stuff to be honest!

If so, what tracks are your favourites?

Speaking of their first album, the woman on the front cover is called Louisa Livingstone & has 5 acting credits on imdb including an appearance in an episode of Rumpole Of The Bailey.

Yes, well, ten years ago when I was a spring chicken, I was alll about 70s rock. I’m now mostly consumed by 80s synth stuff but back in the day it was all Free, Wishbone Ash, Uriah Heep etc and my dad adores the first Black Sabbath album so I got very well acquainted with it then, too. He actually saw them live at the Van Dyke Club in Plymouth in that year! So he would have been 16. He was in awe of the band and the music but not a very happy bunny about the surroundings (he didn’t do drugs and was a bit younger than the rest there so apparently spent most of it dodging having beer dripped on him - they were apparently all forced to sit on the floor cross legged throughout, if you can believe!). I would say it’s actually a hard one to pick tracks from. It’s not a concept album but it’s almost got that feel - I’ve never really just picked a track from it; if you listen to it, you listen to it all. But, if pushed, I would have to say the first track for the intro and general atmosphere - it’s a good candidate for headphones in the dark! From the point of view of an awesome riff, NIB is good once it gets going. Sleeping Village, probably because it’s quite proggy, which is rarely a bad thing in my book. Then they wrote Paranoid in 15 minutes and realised that that was the way to make money. Never mind.

Two of the tracks on the album are covers. One is a cover of 'Warning' by the Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation, Aynsley Dunbar being a drummer who has drummed for loads of artists & bands.
Ozzy must've misheard the lyrics of the song as instead of singing 'I was warned about you baby' he sings 'I was born without you baby'.
