Grosjean was certainly lucky to get out of that one and despite being inside the flames for 27 seconds he was so lucky to get away with burns just to his hands. Hopefully it won't be too long before he's back on the grid again.
As for Russell taking Hamilton's seat? Hamilton doesn't need to race again this year so I'd like to see Russell finish the year in a competitive car to see how well he performs.

Yes, if had been knocked out ....................that would have had a very bad ending.

I'm really looking forward to seeing George in that Merc. He is a far better driver than the Williams car is allowing him to show. If he can get close to Bottas this weekend it will be huge for him. If he can beat Bottas then he'll have the world at his feet. Best of British to him. B.

Yes that Grosjean accident was pretty horrific glad he came out without much injury... why on earth that Haas split in two mind you is mystifying and shouldn't really happen if they're complying with the FiA's crash requirements.
Romain is one of those drivers who if he didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck but he's had a fair few years in F1 and not quite made the grade. Yes the Haas has been on a bit of a downward curve over the years but can't see what Grosjean has done to justify his seat over say a driver like Hulkenberg or Vandoorne who are without drives right now or even Sergio Perez who I rate a notch above Grosjean and is being (perhaps wrongly) replaced with Vettel next season. That said when Grosejan is on it he's fairly good it's just that isn't guaranteed and more than likely he gets into some scrape that scuppers his chances in the race, the season etc. That said certainly don't dislike him either and glad he made it out of that fairly unscathed!
A great opportunity of George Russell and sure he'll give it a good go. As long as he's got all the resources, skill and effort Mercedes put into Lewis he could certainly get a win this season... wonder what the odds of that were before this week. Wish him all the best!

If you haven't seen it I won't say much but I think that there may have been some dirty work afoot!
But still a point has been proved despite the final result....

I will watch the race in full tonight. Unbelievable race !!! P.S. I was so relieved about Grosjean being OK last week. I was watching it live and it was horrific. I also agree with Vettel and Ricciardo who made it clear that they thought the repeated showing of the same bit of fire footage was unnecessary over the hour that the race was stopped.

How can the pit crew get it so wrong? Flipping heck, don't they watch the race on the screens so apart from communication advice to tell them whose tyres to get out, they could see who is coming in first. Imagine if Lewis had been driving. He would have gone off his nut with rage over that.
I like the way Perez has not whinged or complained about Racing Point dropping him. I actually think they should have kept Perez, their most successful driver. Vettel is not a team player. He will cause them headaches.
From 18th in the race to first ! Gee you'd never bet on it.
I know there is plenty else to discuss - Verstappen being knocked out by Le Clerc etc.

Good points there BG!
It is difficult to understand how such a top team made a serious mistake, however I would surmise that if it can happen then one day it will so they need to design the process so it can't happen.
Regarding Vettel, yes why take a risk with him. He's mistake prone so you'd think they'd stick with their own talent or some other up and coming driver. Well done to Perez on the win.
Wonder when they'll get more female drivers?
