A Mini Metro saloon, I think it looks very odd. Not sure if it was a one-off or not. Reminds me of a Vauxhall Chevette saloon. The Saint I have never seen that Metro saloon before but think that the hatchback looks much better. About 1990 I briefly owned an A Reg MG Metro 1275. I sold it to my sister after about 3 months and she did a lot of miles in it and actually spent next to nothing on it as it was a very reliable car. After a year or so it got vandalised and was written off! Steed

Driving this old Falcon would surely brighten your day or maybe you need sunglasses to look at it !
I saw this on Sunday. The paintwork even has glitter in it. I did wonder if the owner works at E&S Kitchen & Bathrooms, company colours.
This wasn't 'on the road' but when I turned on the tv and saw an old film that we were shown in French language class years ago - 'Mon Oncle' (French version of Mr Bean really !) the colours of this car stood out too. Imagine if that was the trend these days !

They are great looking cars Batgirl - but then everything looks so much better in the summer sunshine like you're getting right now! Thanks for posting. Love that Falcon Gene.

I like the Ford Falcon, although I personally think it would look better all one colour. The second car looks like a 1956 Chevrolet.

Is the Falcon above a model from the late 60s, Batgirl ?

Oops. Not much chance of survival for this Bentley: But the number plate lives on with this 1948 Bentley MK VI Special. Gene.

That picture is taken somewhere near to the border of Kent and South East London. The area is familiar to me as I often travelled on the 51 Bus as a child. It still runs between Woolwich and Orpington.

(London Transport RT) LUC88's service record below dates that picture from sometime in December 1958 to December 1966 as the 51 route would have been a Sidcup / Bromley Garage (LT Garage Code -SP Sidcup and TB Bromley) allocated route. It ended up in East London after this stint finishing its life in Romford's North Street Garage.

On further inspection the destination blind shows a set of way points that date the route to between November 1958 and May 1963. The fuzzy ones on it bottom row of the blind are to me Orpington and the unreadable one on the bottom right is I think is an abbreviation of Bromley . From May 1963 the route was extended to Woolwich and the blind doesn't have those new places on it. As for the Bentley I wonder how much of the original made it onto the current vehicle.
