Very true Steve. I was hoping that some of the content becomes available on catch up parts of digital. That would be good.

It's a minor gripe I know but when I find myself some unexpected time to be able to watch something then that feature would be very handy. Could of done with it last week after you guys recommended Budgie but i missed the first episode.

Would be interesting to see behind the scenes of the channel, they can't run it on their own surely. I wonder who goes through the films/shows editing them for dodgy content & what guidelines they use, that must be a full time job in itself.

See if your V-Box has it in recommendations it may have recorded it for you?
Can probably understand why TPTV don't have a catch up facility... streaming, but I don't know why they can't do repeat showings of these shows during the week... unless the terms of their deal to show them prevents this? They've repeated VDV, Rumpole etc. so don't see why repeats would be a issue?
Can't see why not ITV4 show the same Sweeney, Minder and Pro's episodes 2, 3 or more times in a week!

They didn't seem to have a problem doing it years ago when they only had two channels! I fondly remember daytime TV usually after the lunchtime news used to have sitcom repeats old b/w films etc. It's how i saw things like Laurel & Hardy. The afternoon matinee used to be a regular BBC2 thing I seem to recall, although I don't think this format was an all year round thing for example during the summer BBC2 used to show a lot of Test Cricket and things like Wimbledon. Why on earth the big boys couldn't run a channel like TPTV considering the amount of rubbish they have had on their other digital over the years is beyond me. The likes of ITV3 and 4 are ok to a point the same with the BBC projects. Things like GOLD started with the BBC as a partner I believe. They all suffer from showing small catalogues with dreaded excessive advert breaks and worse still loads of cuts to the shows. The problem is that those organisations think they know what we want to watch or dictate what we watch and as has been proven, that is not the case. They simply weren't interested in the programmes transmitted by TPTV. I hope that their success means they have a long hard look at themselves. Just take a look at BBC Four's drama and film output at the moment... if they 'acquired' TPTV that's pretty much what we'd get... the stuff TPTV is showing would simply vanish replaced by safe choices!
Shame BBC Four did show a few good things like The Crow Road, Law & Order, Contact etc. a few years back!

I was awake very late last night & saw an episode of 'Together', a 'Crossroads' like soap opera from 1980/1 made by Southern TV & broadcast live. It's set in a sheltered accomodation block
Not too many famous names in it though Sarah Greene was in early episodes. In charge of the place is Sheila Fay who played Billy's mother in 'One Summer', in real life she was married to another scouser Ken Jones who played Ives in 'Porridge'.
50 episodes were made & according to TV Times listings it was shown at 1.30pm. I've only seen 1 episode but it reminded me of Australian soaps like 'Sons And Daughters' & 'Prisoner'. The theme tune to the second series is by John Dankworth & sung by Cleo Laine, an odd choice for a show set in a block of housing association flats.

TV Times listing of the first episode of 'Together' featuring a smudge of 23 year old Sarah Greene who was in 16 episodes before joining Blue Peter the same year.

There is an episode of “Runaround” with Mike Reid on TPTV tomorrow morning, not brilliant but I will be watching just for the nostalgia.
