Anyone else on here like this? Its getting towards the end of the second series now and I think its great. Of Kay's stuff, I loved Phoenix Nights, but thought the Max and Paddy spin off was rubbish, also I wasn't keen on that X Factor based send up where he was a Northern Irish singer. After these two turkeys I thought he had lost his way but got it back with this.
In case you haven't seen it, its a very simple premise, its just him and a girl (Sian Gibson) chatting on the way to work, while listening to the radio, but its really well observed and I like the Manchester locations.

I've seen a couple from the first series and thought that they were good but it is not one of those I've found to be a "can't miss". I think it is probably because that is how I feel about Peter Kaye, he can be good but for me not hilarious.

I like this and have watched both series. The second series is only four episodes long and thankfully only has one of those song/dream sequences which I'm not a fan of and it's for that reason I don;t like those x-factor shows that Cartman described either.
They are worth watching again because of the little signs in the background such as the "Dog with 2 cocks" pub or the sign for the "Shaun Ryder Rehab Centre". The ads on Forever FM are worth listening out for too. The will they/won't they scenario is a little hackneyed but you cannot deny the natural chemistry between Kay & Gibson, who was also in Phoenix Nights.
Speaking of which, those 2 series are as funny as anything else made in the last 40 years in my opinion. He'll be hard pushed to top those.

I loved 'Cradle to the grave' with Peter Kay. It got a load of flak due to Kay's London accent, however i thought it was a suberbly funny series. Despite being set in 1970s South London, you can spot recycled Life on Mars locations. I really hope it gets a second series.

I watched a few moments of this last night. I thought then I might give it a try. I didnt see any of the first series.
I'm not a big Peter Kaye fan. I prefer Lee Evans myself.

Kay is either good or bad, not much in between. I think it possibly helps if you are from the North too

I can't watch Kay after his butchery of Christie's Amarillo. That said though, I'd rather watch him than James Corden. Or Dermot O'Leary. Or worst of all, Paddy McGuinness.

Liked Kay to begin with years ago, Phoenix Nights was excellent & I even liked Max & Paddy, then came the flood of dvd's & even a fitness video ( albeit a parody ) & he started to wear very thin indeed. By all accounts he isn't the nicest of people ( nor is Paddy McGuinness so I've heard ), his huge success going to his head & losing him colleagues like Dave Spikey. I found a recent BBC documentary on him cringemaking, it was basically a succession of talking heads saying how brilliant he is, I actually thought it was another parody at first.
Remember seeing him on Parkinson with Michael Caine, David Attenborough & others. He dominated proceedings & tried to get everyone to wear party hats, Caine didn't look impressed.

Or worst of all, Paddy McGuinness. I can't stand that talentless bell-end. Actually it is a draw between him and Russell Brand. :w***er: Sam.

I enjoyed Phoenix Nights when it was first on, but as I said I'm not a big fan, although I've not really seen much of his recent stuff. I do agree with a lot of the comments here, especially Gene's about O'leary and the other two.
Further to what Arthur said, a close member of my family who works for a big tarmacing company which does work all over the country told me that they did a job on Kay's driveway and he didn't even offer them a cup of tea and wasn't too friendly. Unless he had his reasons.
