Last night was the final one. Don't know if anyone watched it, but I thought the ending was a disappointment and a bit flat.

Yes Cartman, I hear Peter Kaye will not be doing a third series. It was on the BBC Text this morning.

I absolutely adored this series and am sad to hear that he's not doing anymore :( A fun fact: Kayleigh's brother in law who is always fixing his bike, is the lead singer of Elbow! Who knew?

Yes, Guy Garvey. The thing with Kay is, he is annoying. He is a talented comedy writer and actor but is rubbish at stand up, he has, basically, regurgitated all "Northern Comedy" stuff ever into one act, you know the kind of "this isn't me step ladder, its me real ladder" kind of garbage which goes all the way back to the music halls, via the clubs and to the Comedians and New Faces.
He knows his limitations, which is why he's never on panel shows where he might have to think quickly, and when he does appear on something live, like Jonathan Ross or whatever, he will try and get laughs by crawling around on all fours or try to hump the cameraman's leg or something.
I remember that appearance on Parkinson a couple of years back when Michael Caine was on too and he just kept shouting and making people wear daft hats. It wasn't funny at all

Yep The Conedians did a lot of his act decades earlier - and better too.

He's very derivative and has about an hour's worth of material at most, which he stretches out for a l-o-n-g t-i-m-e. Some of his act he has cribbed from The Comedians and probably from old footage of music hall comics from the 30s like Robb Wilton and Frank Randle.
His good stuff (Phoenix Nights, Cradle to Grave and Car Share) are good, his bad stuff (Max and Paddy, various stand up DVDs) is absolutely awful

I quite enjoyed Car Share from what I saw of it. I thought Peter Kaye was quite amusing. I can't comment on any other stuff he's done as I've not seen him in anything else and I wouldn't watch any of the stand up DVD'S, it's just not my bag. I think it was probably the best idea to finish it after two series. I will definitely watch it all again
