The Rover P5, P6 and Granada look great Burtonshaw, the P6 interior looks very detailed There seems to be an appreciation on here for model cars/vehicles, so I thought it a good idea to create a thread devoted to model cars including Scalextric models. Feel free to post links to interesting models for sale or models from your own collections I will kick things off with a link to Sunstar models Routemaster Buses, these are about the best detailed models I have seen and I have recently bought a couple of these from eBay. I think Sunstar made about 20 different versions in 1:24 scale from 2004 onward, they are huge - about 33cm long! www.modelbuszone.co.uk/gallery/sunstar.htmSome examples of the highly detailed Sunstar Routemaster model The Saint

Wow! Thanks for the heads up DCB, they're certainly worth a closer look. The P5B and Granada especially so, let's hope the Interceptor is up to the same standard. I wonder if they'll ever do any of them in different paint colours... Pricey, but very tempting A few years back I built a Tamiya 1/24th scale Mk1 Cooper S and made a half hearted attempt at making it look like George Harrison's psychedelic Radford Mini, if I can find the pics I'll post them on here. Villain Edit ; just noticed the Mk2 Granada Estate as well, very nice. Moderator note: Duplicate photos removed from quoted post

My (highly inaccurate!) attempt at George Harrison's Radford Cooper S... Villain Corgi did this as part of a set of Beatles vehicles but they had to withdraw it because Apple didn't authorise the use of the apple logo on the roof. They go for good money now, considering it's just a Corgi mini:

There was a much more accurate version of it available made by someone else in 1/43rd scale, I can't remember who it was but I've got a photo of one somewhere. Even then it wasn't 100% right though, it had the wrong wheels (Minilites instead of '60s Cosmics) and the wrong bumpers on too. I must dig out he pic. That Corgi version is based on a '70s Mk3 shell! Villain

On the subject of Minis, check out this huge 1:12 scale model of the Morris Mini Minor/Austin Seven made by Sunstar. Incredible detail - even the wheels un-bolt! All the variations are very limited editions, they are no longer made, but some are available on eBay. I know Villain especially will appreciate these Mini models. Stone me they are very impressive, thanks for posting those mate! I wish my engine bay was that clean... They look very accurate to me and ripe for customising too, just the way the real things were modified back in period. The Mini 'scene' is big on originality at the moment, it tends to go through phases but some of us like our cars to look as they would have done when owners in the '60s were able to buy all sorts of accessories and bolt on goodies to make their Minis look a bit different to the herd. With a bit of skill it's possible to change the look of those otherwise standard models, it might affect the value but that wouldn't bother me too much. I've just noticed something missing on the green and white Austin Cooper - it should have the stainless steel trim round the top of the doors to match the rear quarterlight windows, all Mk1 and 2 Coopers had these fitted, as did the Wolseley Hornet and Riley Elf variants. Sounds picky I know, but at least they got the badges and grille right Now then, where's that ebay button...? Villain

I am very tempted to buy one of these Minis, Sunstar also made Traveller and Van versions too. The Saint
