I was at the above on Friday for a quiz and took a few pictures whilst there. The workshop was full but some of it was cordoned off so I couldn't get too many. Outside was the worlds most expensive car park with Vantage V12's, V8's, DBS, DB9's everywhere but it was too dark to get any pics, plus I'm a crap photographer.
Incidentally, I wasn't much better at the quiz.
Anyway, hopefully you car buffs will enjoy. Del will post them up later on my behalf. Sounds good Steve Austin. Hurry up with the pics Del !

Excellent pictures Steve
That's just the sort of place I'd love to have a guided tour of, seeing all ages of Aston in various stages of restoration, I'm envious.
I was chatting to a bloke today that I haven't seen for about a year or so, and he was telling me that he has three Astons, the best one being a 1998 supercharged V600. Certainly a few bobs worth! For me though it would have to be a classic DB4 GT.
Dream on.
Sam.

Cracking set of photos there Steve, thanks for sharing them Great to see that folk are still allowed round the workshop once in a while, it must have been a fantastic experience for you. I buy 'Vantage' magazine quite regularly which often has articles about the old and new factories, plus tours of the various Aston specialists that are dotted around the country. I keep meaning to drop into Newport Pagnell to have a shuftie at what's left of the old Tickford site, I think Desmond J. Smail's Aston Workshop is based in part of the old coachworks buildings in the High Street. I've got some AM shots from various classic car shows and a few archive pics too - ok if I post them here Steve rather than start a new thread..? Sadly I never managed to get a photo of the gorgeous dark blue F reg'd DB6 that lived opposite the gate of the middle school I went to in the '70s, it never seeemed to go anywhere but on nice days the old boy who owned it would bring it out of his garage for us to look at as we came out of school at home time. About two or three years ago he sold it at auction and got £125k. It's probably worth twice that now. Villain

Villain Villain, I have been there quite often as my Sister works there and I have had the tour a couple of times. The AM Social Club hold a quiz night there a couple of times a year and I've been to a few and so have seen a few very, very nice cars including BMT 216A , Paul McCartneys old one and a 177 for example. My son did his work experience there recently too. He is so small that the overalls didn't fit him so the ladies in the machine shop made adjustments to it and made him a belt from a seat belt There's nothing those gals can't do!! The workshops have been revamped outside so the're not instantly recognisable and the offices across the road have been scrapped and the workshop buildings behind there knocked down. Feel free to add any relevant AM pics Villain, it's our forum; not mine Look forward to seeing them.

I buy 'Vantage' magazine quite regularly... If you have this month's then you'll see the actual V600 I was referring to. I've known the owner for some years now. Sam.

Oddly enough Sam I haven't bought the latest issue yet! Ta for the tip though, sounds good . It's always a good read anyway with some beautiful cars featured in every issue. Steve - cheers mate I'll load up some AM pics later. Funny you should mention 'BMT 216A' as I have a pic of it in use on screen before the Bond production crew got hold of it... it was used in an early-ish episode of 'The Saint', driven by Anthony Quayle; I'll post the pic later.
