Did anyone else see this tonight? Based on Danny Bakers autobiography, set in the 1970's, starring Peter Kay. I like Danny Baker and I like Peter Kay and this first episode was OK, once you get past Peter Kay's Landon accent. Not an out and out comedy but there were some laugh out load moments and some bittersweet too.
Fashions and motors were spot on (nice Granada) and I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Did this strike a chord with anyone on here?

I've read both of the books & enjoyed those, so I gave it a go. It was ok. Peter Kay's accent was awful though! A proper cockney would've been much better. They've probably used his 'name' as a pull in. Shame. It spoiled it for me.

I watched it and liked it. Brought back memories for me as I was about that age then. Thought Peter Kay was OK, similar character to Potter in Phoenix Nights in some ways.

Anyone else watching this? They've used Colet Court for the school location

I've just watched episode 4 of this and I've really got into this programme, I think it's great. It's spot on for the 70s, cars, music, fashions and I think really entertaining and well done.

I've been watching this, and it's been growing on me. The thing with the shoes was funny - having to meet the Liverpool dockers to get all the right hand ones

The other thing was John Henshaw as the football coach and scoring the winning goal. His celebrations with the trophy were hilarious
