I've just watched on you tube and it's a brilliant episode. I can't work out why, but for some reason I missed it on all the reruns on itv too so it's the first time since 75 that I've seen it. I love the summer heat of 1975 which comes across in the location filming. Like the Mini too which Jack got to use, bit of a change from NHK!
One of the villains was the chef from series 2 of Fawlty Towers.

I thought Trap was a terrific episode. Loved seeing Jack and George wander through the wasteland and there was a strong undercurrent of violence throughout. Woods and Davies were a nasty pair.

Watched this tonight (plus Golden Fleece) - coincidentally both feature members of the squad being accused of being corrupt, Jack in this episode and Haskins in Golden Fleece
Anyone know how frequent these falsified allegations of corruption were at the time? I guess, given that there was a lot of evidence of Met corrruption during the 70s, that any allegation would have been taken very seriously
Trap is of my favourite episodes in series two - really good use of locations (not least the fires on the wasteland scene with Regan and Carter), and well directed too.
Despite a couple of the dimmest villains you'll ever encounter the whole thing is really satisfying
5/5

Those wasteland locations took me ages to find and it is sad that only a few key features remain today to help identify where they were. Gene.

Great locations found by Gene - but the episode is shite! Sorry if I have offended anyone who actually likes it Vi

It's a but slow moving for The Sweeney, but one of the best bits in it is, nicking Woods and Davies near the end when the Squad pounce at Manny Bellow's premises.
