28 years ago today, we lost one of the best drivers ever to race. R.I.P Ayrton Senna.
Yeah, awful weekend, losing two drivers. I was watching the GP when Ayrton crashed and vividly remember them cutting away from an aerial shot because of the pool of blood that became visible, at that point it became obvious this might not have a good ending.

A terrible weekend that seems like yesterday not 1994. F1 was totally rocked by this.

There hasn't been a lot of talk on this thread lately, and I've been cheating on F1 by watching Wimbledon ! (Go Nick, just about to start.)
The Silverstone race was the best race to watch of this season. Those last 10 laps were thrilling. Drivers attempting to pass, driving to the max. of the abilities, continual changes of position. Well done Sainz, but seriously it was great to see Lewis Hamilton make the podium. That's what I like to see, some real competition !

Wimbledon? Next you'll be telling us that you've been watching cricket! Strange people these antipodeans. I do agree though, Silverstone really came alive towards the end and I'm envious of Gene having been there to watch the race, the atmosphere must have been amazing. Sam.

Still been following the season BG, in fact it has been a fairly good one over the last few races with a few things like Ferrari and Leclerc v team v Sainz a lesser extent Perez v Verstappen at Red Bull, Merc's off the boil season and Vettel, Riccardo, Mick Schumacher and few others having very topsy turvy years too. I hope Danny Ricciardo can find some form but think his F1 race is run I'm afraid, Vettel too I think either needs to move on or at least leave Aston Martin (team Stroll) and the new breed like Russell and Norris will hopefully take the next step and like Sainz get the win monkey off the back too. I'll try and post a bit more on this too had a few things on recently but still enjoy and very interested in the season this year hope it's a good one.

Or the rugby Or football Definitely never !
Were you happy with the race result Gene? Was it the best Silverstone in terms of the atmosphere and event?
The start of the race with the Alfa Romeo crash of Zhou Guanyu must have been the biggest shock to all. It was such a long time until they announced that he wasn't injured. Looked horrific on tv. I will commend the telecast that they did not replay the footage of the car rolling and crashing until the driver's safety was confirmed. The 2020 incident of Grosjean's fiery crash and miraculous exit from his car was played over and over (too many times in my opinion) by the broadcaster back then.

Yes I have been following it too but I still have to watch the Austrian race on replay. Work and life get busy sometimes !
News says that Dan Ricciardo has signed with McLaren until the end of 2023. Miracles can happen but his qualifying and ability to handle his car haven't improved.
I like Russell more than Norris. I would like to see him reach that No. 1 on the podium but he has had a far better year with podium positions than Hamilton. It is crazy and probably human nature that even though I used to get sick of seeing Lewis always win for so many years I now want to see him fight his way back up there. (Lewis should have won last year, not Max V, but it appears that Max may legitimately win the title himself this year).
