Just heard that actor Sidney Poitier has died.
One of his early films was with Tony Curtis which I saw many years ago. They played two escaped prisoners who make a break for freedom together. Later on of course he was in 'To Sir With Love' made in England, also 'In The Heat Of The Night' wihh Rod Steiger. Sidney turned to directing later on.
RIP Sidney.

Just read of the sad news elsewhere, I didn't realise he was 94. He was fantastic as Virgil Tibbs in 'In The Heat Of The Night', amongst many other great roles.

RIP Sidney Poitier, a very successful and legendary actor; To Sir With Love is a fav with me, with the London locations used. In the Heat of the Night was another excellent one and I too didn't realise he'd reached that age.
