Sad news... One of his best films was No Way Out (1950), where he played a doctor trying to deal with racist abuse whilst treating patients at a hospital. RIP Sidney

Some deaths just sadden you more than must. I think here because Sidney had that gift for connection with his audience as well as his considerable acting skills. As mentioned many times on this thread ‘To Sir with Love’ is a favourite, I just love it’s message and optimism, there’s always a lump in my throat at the end. ‘In the heat of the night’ of its time but also a timeless classic. ‘The Bedford incident’ also a great film with Richard Wydmark, such a good film for tension, suspense and how how the characters interact with each other. RIP.

RIP. I want to re-watch In the Heat of the Night. Agree about the Bedford Incident, great film for tension and suspense with a shock ending.
