Has to be said I've never found Baxter's elaborate sketches very funny. I'm not keen on men dressing up as women either which he did a lot, I think he was more like Danny La Rue than Dick Emery. I seem to remember a few of his sketches were quite funny but I'm generally with you on the dressing up malarkey. Lily Savage and Mrs Brown Boys .........................

Les Dawson got away with it, and Benny Hill was occasionally funny when he tried it too, but in general, I'm with Arthur and TL on the cross dressing thing.

Some more interesting articles there Arthur thanks again - Interesting to see how those contemporary stars got on with the cars too. The MK1 RS2000 Escort is an early one of those as all the L registered cars were Left Hand Drive I believe, before the Right hand Drive cars were available in the UK after the plate change to M in late 1973. Also with Dolomite Sprint, Mimosa yellow was the only colour the earlier cars were available in till the 1974 model year when further colours became available.
Also a mate of mine owned an L reg 1850 Dolomite with the same registration number series as that Sprint in the article (ERW???L) from when he bought it May 1990.
It appears that none of the cars in this recent crop of 1973 tests are on the DVLA records though.
Interestingly though Stanley Baxter is still with us, born in 1926.

There were 4 of these features, one of them I haven't got ( Jenny Hanley in a Daf 44 ) but the other I'll add tomorrow. Found the Jenny Hanley one, Arthur.

Good stuff Night, Daf used a unique transmission called variomatic which operated by rubber belts and pulleys which varied in size somehow as the car accelerated. Jenny Hanley was on Magpie, this lad in our class at school at the time had a major thing for her, he used to practically turn into Cosmo Smallpiece on days when the programme was on.

Nicer looking those scans you found Nightfly & aren't split up like the ones I have.
Jenny Hanley played Dennis Waterman's love interest in 'Scars Of Dracula'.

Nice one Gene Looks like she's a car person judging by her twitter images. Finally, an answer from Sally... Gene.

I'm sure Sally did so many little jobs like this over the years so it can easily be forgotten. The Imp didn't exactly have the wow factor that would help it stand out
