The screen shots look good. I'll get round to getting this one. Definitely going on my list.

Get a blu-ray guys they're only 50 sheets these days, and well worth it.

I wouldn't hesitate to invest in a blu ray player if you're wondering whether or not to buy one, HD provides a much more 'filmic' experience ( ie. close to how you'd see a film at the cinema ) & it makes all the difference to your enjoyment. There are dozens of 60's & 70's films that have been given a new lease of life in HD, not to mention the first series of The Sweeney which anyone will tell you looks & sounds remarkable. You can still play dvds on a blu ray player & they usually come with a USB port enabling you to watch content from an external hard drive. Blu ray discs are usually a bit more expensive than dvds but they're also an investment as if you want to sell them you get a much better price for blu rays than dvds on ebay.

I agree with Arthur. That has been my experience with Blu Ray. The best conversion ive seen is the professionals. Network have done an amazing job on the series.

Any recommendations on Blu-ray models? Not much of a techno geek.
Getting back on subject, I note that the credit for cinematography for Robbery is Douglas Slocombe, could this be the same Douglas Slocombe who is the art director for Peep Show? Not a common name and is the same kind of role?

Don't think it's the same one Steve. Both the same name but "Douglas Slocombe" who was Cinematographer on Robbery is 84 now. "Doug Slocombe" is an Art Director, who worked on The Peep Show & The Inbetweeners.
Gene.
