An interesting crop of cars there Villain - Amazing that they are out there but some top prices wanted for the Fords. Not many of the 2.0L MK2 Granada left and that would be nice to preserve and that Cortina estate. That reminds me of the car sitting in the forensics/Police garage in Sweeney 2, except that was a metallic Jupiter Red with a black interior.
The Jag and NSU are nice finds too and I've often thought the Ro80 still stands up well now with it's shape and styling so must have been radical on launch in 1967 along with that engine. Of course it was Mazda of Japan who managed to improve and refine the rotary design engine to be reliable in their "RX" cars.

I haven't really kept up with the Ford stuff but like to have a look now and again, you're pretty much our Ford guru on here so it's always nice to read your input on these cars - if I had the room for more cars I'd love a Mk1 or Mk2 Granada, engine size would be less important for me as a nice solid usable example is the thing I'd look for most. Another Jag here - a keenly priced '78 Series 2 XJ6 4.2 auto with an unusual matching white vinyl roof, a genuine option back in the '70s but not very often asked for, but some proper raised digit number plates would finish this off nicely... www.carandclassic.com/l/C1680732Villain

I am a Ford fan too, if I had the money I would have to pick between a Mark 2 Consul/Zephyr/Zodiac, a Consul Classic or a Mark 1 or 3 Cortina. Difficult choice!

If I had the money for a classic Ford I would like an early Mk1 Granada 3000 GXL or an early MK3 Cortina GT or GXL or possibly if a more modern classic, a Sierra Sapphire Cosworth Steed

Not a bad wishlist Steed. I'd love a Mk1 Granada.

I like two out of the three there Steed, Mark 1 Granadas and Mark 3 Cortinas are superb, Sierras, and 80s stuff in general don't interest me at all.

Always glad to help Villain!
I have a long wish list of classics too if I had the room and a bit more money, and agree with all the choices of cars mentioned so far, (a 2 door MK3 Cortina would be cool too) but would also add to the list
P6 Rover 3500S Manual box,
Jensen Interceptor SP
Series 2 Jaguar/Daimler XJ 2 door coupe, BMW 2002Tii, or E9 3.0CSL, 3 litre Capri of some sort, Preferably a MK1 3000GXL, or MK2 3.0 Ghia with the square lamps.
Then there's a couple of Vauxhalls in particular; the HPF Droop Snoot Firenza in silver or the Sports Hatch estate with the same front clip painted in "Extra dark wine".

Isn’t this the P6 that’s incredibly heavy, because it was toughened up with thicker glass, etc, on account of its former diplomatic duties? I think it was in the same copy of Practical Classics that ran a 1970s themed Sweeney content and featured Roger Chinnery’s brown Consul GT, as well as a spotless D Reg MkI Transit. If it’s the same P6, it was at the time still owned by the Met and although by then used for promotional activities, it could, if required, be used as a ‘proper’ police vehicle. Imagine seeing that in your rear view mirror, siren going like a goddun’ and the blue lights on, as you try and escape the scene of your crime!
