I'm not massively keen on the Silver Spirit personally, I always thought it looked like an 80s Chevy or Cadillac, preferred the Shadow, and, of those, I liked the early series 1, 65-77 cars best I prefer the exterior of the Silver Shadow also, particularly the Silver Shadow 2. However, the Silver Spirit interior is better, the individual style rear seats works well and it’s slightly more spacious inside. The Spirit handles and rides better too. The Saint

As if to re-enforce my earlier point about classic Mini prices existing in their own bubble, along comes this rare Mk2 Mini 1000 from 1968, a bog standard one in good nick with some history, just a few years ago the asking price would have been around the £5k - £6k mark... www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1183767It's a rare survivor certainly, as the Mk2 saloon were only made between September '67 and November '69, and plenty that did survivie have probably donated their shells to Cooper and Cooper S restorations, but as nice as it is, I do wonder who is going to cough up almost twenty bags of sand for what is an 'ordinary' Mini when the same amount can still bag you a genuine Mk2 Cooper. Villain 20 grand for an ordinary Mini!! You'd expect it come with Michael Caine at that price.

That is a bit of a silly price for a mini. I check out prices for Cortinas on ebay from time to time, not that I'm in a position to buy one, but out of interest, and there are some daft prices being asked for them now. The very cheapest ones are now about £2000.00, rising to £50000.00 for a mark 1 Lotus

The problem is that bog standard Minis cost about the same to restore as the more valuable Coopers do, whoever restored this one obviously wants to get back as much as possible. It rarely pans out that way though... Villain

Interesting item Villain!
Have to say I don't go along with some recent comments (not on here) about Keeler being a victim of her situation. She chose to mix with some very dodgy people, was involved in multiple relationships at the same time, Stephen Ward was an obviously unpleasant character at best, so not surprising when something very bad happens. Don't mix with trash!

In that clip above, Keeler's Mini was parked in Devonshire Place Mews, W1, not Devonshire Place as the advert suggests Gene.

Interesting and superb that the "Keeler" Mini survives, the restorer has done a great job!
