I'm not massively keen on the Silver Spirit personally, I always thought it looked like an 80s Chevy or Cadillac, preferred the Shadow, and, of those, I liked the early series 1, 65-77 cars best I prefer the exterior of the Silver Shadow also, particularly the Silver Shadow 2. However, the Silver Spirit interior is better, the individual style rear seats works well and it’s slightly more spacious inside. The Spirit handles and rides better too. R-R and Bentleys from the mid 60s to mid 90s are very special cars, they turn every journey into an event, in my opinion the newer cars come nowhere near in this regard. This one for sale at £20k is an absolute peach, almost too good to use and what value! 1990 Bentley Mulsanne S

The Saint Certainly a snip compared to the one at the top of the page, a Bentley S2 at £395k!

Christine Keeler's 1961 Mk1 Austin Seven Mini is up for grabs, not cheap but it's the real McCoy.... www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1185825Short but silent clip of her driving it in '63.... Villain Good spot, clearly the sellers are taking advantage of the recent drama on TV and who can blame them? Anyone else been watching White House Farm and spotting all the old cars and wondering who they belong to, especially the Police ones?

My word - stunning! And the prices they go for now. Certainly go for good money but when you weigh up how little they cost to run then that can be offset against some of the value. That would be classed as a vehicle of historic interest so not subject to road tax or MoT costs (Personally I think they should still be subject to MoT) and the insurance is going to be minimal too if it is on a limited mileage policy. The last time I insured my 2.3 Granada it was £90 for the year and as it was a new policy without any No Claims Discount, that is cheap for a year's motoring. I've also just insured my Suzuki GS550, again without any No Claims Discount, and that was just £74 for the year. That will become tax and MoT exempt next month.
Obviously the policyholder's age and location make a difference to the premiums but vehicles that are 30+ years old can be very affordable after the initial outlay.

Very true Sam, but although I'm looking forward to tax exemption for the Escort from April 1st, my classic policy premium is still pretty highish for a classic, I paid £253 a year. It is unlimited mileage, which they automatically changed my policy too, previously saying it hadn't gone up from the 3,000 miles a year one I previously specified. The premium went up a bit in 2017 anyway when I asked to insure it for a higher value. Still it is at least about half what I pay for my modern car.
It seems rather a lot I know, but it's probably my catchment area/postcode, which I know isn't too salubrious. Does seem a bit "meh" when other classic car policy holders pay a lot less for more than one car on a policy and/or more powerful cars/classic Fords than mine, including Escorts.........
I know people have suggested to get another quote, well I have and the quotes have come out similar, so what else can I do??
