Another good selection PP. The 80s and dare I say it some of the 90s stuff is looking good and most is uber rare now. You divnt see many R5 turbos these days. Although thinking about it they didnt last long at the time. Used and abused by boy racers along with Renault reliability and build quality and that could be the reason why.

I knew someone who had a R5 Turbo in the late 90's, nice hot hatch for it's time and certainly looked the part!
As you say Del they all got modded, thrashed, trashed and shagged out by the boy racer brigade back then so good luck finding a relatively original and undamaged one these days. Same for the Peugeot 205 GTI too again another icon of that era but when did you last see one of those...

I've been wondering about that R5 in the last pic. The DVLA state that it is a 1991 model, although it is on an E reg, which did look a bit personalised in nature. But from what I can gather, the Clio came into being in 1990 which replaced the 5, but a lower trimmed version of the 5 did continue on until about the mid-90s. So is this a heavily modified one of these that I saw? Or perhaps the Turbo did continue for a bit post-Clio also. Anyway, time for 6 May 2017. 1986 Nissan Bluebird. I believe this may be one of the first of the Sunderland built Nissans. That being the case, and as a tribute to British manufacturing, this one is still very much with us and shown as still road legal. Which I can vouch for as I still see it when driving past to this day. Another one buried amongst the keep left bollards. 1985 Mini 1000. Still on the road now. Merc 280. Also 1985 and also still on the road. And to finish this mid-table selection an early smooth nosed Rover 200.

A longer selection from 13 May 2017. This Capri has been a regular sighting along this road, but on previous drive-bys I couldn't get a clear enough view of it, so can include it now. It is still in situ at this spot to this day, but I can't say if it actually moves from the spot or not. It's actually parked down the same road as the Granada 2.8 Ghia X that featured in my very first posting. In fact... Just as a reminder. Still here then, but as previously mentioned, it will disappear into SORNhood in about a year's time. MGBs have featured a lot in this collection, but what of the Midget? Well, here's one. 1977 model with the (no doubt MG purist trolling) Triumph 1500cc engine. Still on the road. Very smart Mini. It was hard to tell from the angle of the footage, but despite this being an obvious late model, this looks like it has the Mark 1 rounded grille fitted. If so, nice touch. Very subtle mods to this E30. I think that's an M3 badge on the grille. Whether the real thing or not is another matter. And on the way back (after a fairly typical for me going the wrong way incident!), here it is from the rear. Matching M3 badge there as well I believe. Just marvel at that chrome! Ford Zodiac looking very well cared for. I don't normally bother with motorhomes (unless it's a Type 2 of course!), but this one looked quite impressive. Possibly of American origin maybe? And this is what it was towing. Whoever was driving that van, I hate them! Including this as I've never seen a twin headlight arrangement on these. Looks quite good I think. This orange Anglia was resident in this garage forecourt for some time, but not on recent drive-bys I've done. I think I do get it going in the other direction at some stage, so the front view should be on here later. Sadly the best I could get of this which was behind me while I was parking up in a multi-storey. Fiesta Mk1 XR2. You can see the stripe and logo lit up by my headlights! And to finish, the rear view just as it passes.

Lovely stuff! Agree about the Anglia and Zodiac, although the 90's Rover earlier looks like the booted 400, version of the R8 200.

Cheers chaps Yes you're right Gerry. The Rover was booted making it a 400. I forgot it had a different designation. Okay, just a couple from 14 May 2017 A very smart looking Ford Orion 1.6. Still on the road. Americana pick up. I dunno. Dodge Ram maybe?

And a lot more from 20 May 2017 A very sedate 1988 BMW 325. Still on the road. 1998 Jeep Wrangler 2.5, although the engine size was shown on the DVLA as 3960cc. On a Northern Ireland plate. The MOT expired April 2019, tax still good to January 2020. As I was giving way to the right, I didn't notice this at the time, and only came to my attention now when going through the footage. Assuming it's genuine, this will be the not-as-good-as-the-original Cortina Mk2 Lotus. For that reason, probably rarer than the Mark 1 maybe. Arty soft focus Golf 2. Very versatile is my dashcam! Another oldie Landie. 1998 Mini 1275. Described on the Dav as a Rover. Still on the road. A more plainer (and presumably older) Mini. Couldn't get full reg so no further deets available. The latest in the limo watch. Unusual to see one in red. 2009 Dodge Charger. And the latest in the 80s Nissan Bluebird watch. And you'll see that we've also entered into a red theme for a tittle while. 1987 model. Still on the road. Anyone know what this beauty is? (Not a rhetorical question by the way!) Classic 80s Yuppie Porker. B reg. I bet the filofax is still in the glovebox! And to complete the red section. I've included RM1993 before but was a bit of a compromised grab. Clearer view this time. Not that anyone needs to know what a Routemaster looks like! But this one now struck off the list. Another Anthill Mob wedding motor. K reg, but no current record on DVLA. H reg E30 cabriolet. And to finish, a Volvo 240 (244?) of unknown vintage.

Great selections of varying vintages. I quite like the Merc 280 Coupe from the 17ths selection. I often see one in the locale of these pictures PP so look out for it. It's a Red Coupe with a RHJ registration. Cheers for the upload PP

Cheers again PP! The red sports roadster is a Fiat Dino Spider - apparently a Fiat badged sports car with a Ferrari engine. It's the open top version of the car you see in The Italian job - black fast back sports coupe driven by the chauffer of "Altobani" I think he was called (one wwho says "Pretty car" at Charley's silver Aston before depositing it over the cliff edge...)
The Volvo 240 looks early 80's vintage, one of the many facelifts the model underwent in its roughly 19 year production life.
