Rod was a bit variable, some good stuff but some not so clever. One of his I liked was his next release after Do you think I'm sexy? (which incidentally I do quite like), Ain't love a bitch, from early 79.

I always think of Oz's wife Majorie when I see Rod Stewart, they even look & dress similar.

I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea but I never get tired of listening to Pet Shop Boys' cover of Elvis' Always On My Mind

I certainly agree with you on that CG
I'm not a great fan of the Pet Shop Boys, they did some okay stuff but that it definitely a better version than that by Elvis. I'm not a fan of Elvis in the slightest and consider him to have been very overrated. He may have been a great showman but for me that showmanship translated to music, and especially vocals, that tended to be over-theatrical.

Sam. Never was a huge fan of the Pet Shop Boys - but I did like West End Girls, Suburbia and It's a Sin. (And that was because of the videos)
Sometime around 2002 we ended up with a myriad of Elvis releases and remixes - thanks to a change in the laws concerning rights. Can't recall exactly what the changes were - but at the time, many artists were crapping themselves.
