I don't like racism or sexism at all but this gender fluid stuff I just can't get my head around.

We'd never know what Jack Regan would think of today's policing as it wouldn't be allowed screen time. It was mentioned in Jack Or Knave how the fifth floor was out of touch in 1978! He'd be chucked straight out the back door of the yard in these times.
I feel like a modern day Regan. Surviving in a changing world of nonsense.

I don't pretend to understand it, I don't think anyone can unless they experience it, but I am sympathetic towards those who feel they were born in the wrong body or are uncomfortable with being male or female.
I'd agree though, I'm less sympathetic with those who talk about being 'non binary' & 'gender fluid' as they seem more about buying into a current fad than having genuine issues with their bodies. So much of this is media generated, would 'non binary' even be a thing without social media? In the past if you had a genuine issue with your identity you'd be refered to a psychiatrist, no one other than your doctor & perhaps family members would be aware of it.
It's the broadcasting of these issues, people 'identifying' as non binary, bipolar, pansexual, etc. that I'm dubious about. It's tied up with social media where users describe themselves next to their avatar- 'vegan', 'non binary', 'social conservative', 'dog lover', 'spurs supporter', etc. Obviously we're all sharing parts of ourselves when we write something on twitter, facebook & forums like this one, but I feel people can share too much & it tips over into the dreaded word- narcissism.

Totally agree Arthur. At one time people who had these issues tended to keep it to themselves and their immediate family, which I feel was the best way to go. If I was so inclined I would keep quiet about it. What I don't get is the need to parade it for all and sundry to see.

This might be a bit controversial but, all this transgender stuff. What is going on? This morning I put the ITV breakfast news programme on and there was a report that some journalist was questioned by the police under caution for "misgendering" a trans sexual person on twitter, ie using the word he rather than she. I just don't get any of this stuff at all I'm afraid, to me there are just two genders, men and women, what the hell is all this about and what a waste of police time and resources with the epidemic of knife crime. This is yet another reason why I love 43TV it takes me away from the collective insanity which seems to be taking over and back to a time and place (the 70s) where I felt at home and to a world which was understandable. Imagine Jack or Gene being sent to investigate misgendering "hate crime" the mind boggles. Whatever happened to sticks and stones? Fair enough if you don't like being called whatever but for god sake, don't get the police involved, what a total waste of time/money/resources Mind you, I think the police should be involved when you see young blokes wearing those trousers with the gusset down near their ankles.

This ridiculous show is already in Room 101 but it's started a 4th series tonight- 'Married At First Sight'. I can just about accept that people would be so desperate to get on tv that they'd apply to appear in this, but what about their families who are all in on it? Watching their mothers & fathers on their 'wedding day' pretending that their child marrying a person they've never met before is not the stupidest thing imaginable is
And what programme follows this ludicrous spectacle? 'Mums Make Porn'

If ITV had made it - it would be called "Celebrity Mums Make Porn" - hosted by Keith Lemon (How many Celebrity "Juice" gags could he get out of that?)
If C5 had made it - it would be called "Mums on Benefits make Porn, and then we'll take it away"
